Rubes Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 b. Do you tip for curbside service and if so, how much? 191752 Well, of course you give her a tip, but only if you think she was pretty good at....wait, never mind

stevestojan Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 a) you're basically doing all the work. I think a buck or two is more than enough. b) definitly a couple bucks, unless your bill was higher... I'd say 10% is good.

But like you, I'm curious if others tip for carry-out. 191758 Outback is an example of "curbside" service. They bring your carryout to your vehicle instead of going into the bar area (usually) to pick up your food. It's all the rage with chain restaurants.
Beerball Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Carry out---no tip Curbside---yes tip. I wouldn't go 15-20%, but I'ld give 10. More in stojanty weather.

It's probably worth a couple of bucks, but no where near what you'd tip a waiter for serving you during the whole meal. No, I don't tip pick up food. I might toss my change in the tip jar if she's cute, but that's about it.
BillsFaninNC Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Excellent question. I ponder that everytime I'm at Outback. Usually I do 10% - but it seems like a waste.
CajunBillsBacker Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 I tip for both, but only $2. When we go eat out, I usually leave atleast $5, unless we go to Ryans Steakhouse where they know my wife and I by name, I usually leave a little more.
