Just Jack
Ran track in college with a few people who ran in the Worlds, and one in the Olympics. Not a direct contact with him, but this summer, while on one of my group hikes, I found out the foster parents of Lopez Lomong were with us. They talked about his and some of the other boys experiences when they first came over. Interesting note, the wiki link says he was inspired to run by seeing the 2000 Olympics. From what they were telling us, he had no interest in running, he and the other boys all wanted to play soccer. Running was just a way to keep in shape when it wasn't soccer season. plenzmd1
If she was in just her swimsuit, yea. But if she's in some warm up sweats, etc, not so bad, because how often in your life are you going to have the chance to meet an Olympic Champion? I'm about halfway through my life and only had that happen once, Rulon Gardner, back in 2000. He put me in a headlock for the photo. Too bad the person taking it doesn't know how to operate a camera (film, not digital). Good points Jack, and you hit it on the head in terms of sweats...again just kina weird to me. Rulon was da man.
