Buftex
Growing up in Buffalo in the 70's, it is hard to fathom this, the New York Islanders will re-locate to Brooklyn, assuming there is an NHL again! This franchise just domintated the late 70's... http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/sportingscene/2012/10/the-islanders-in-brooklyn.html
plenzmd1
Sucks for those fans...horrible team for so long, fan base gets tired and stops going to games, owner who does not seem to get it, 40 year old building with no amenities, big contracts to guys who don't perform...wait a minute here
kabnt2005
Hard to blame their owner for this. Wang wanted to privately fund a brand new arena near the Coliseum, but the locals blocked it. Yet they'll be the first ones outside his office protesting the move. In reality, it's a great move for the team. They're only 30 miles from their current location and are still on Long Island. Not to mention the fact that they're on top of a major hub of a large transit system that everyone uses. Oh and they'll be in a pretty killer brand new arena. Marv's Neighbor
At least Brooklyn seems to want them. Can we say the same about Toronto?
