bills1960 Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 These are the BUFFALO BILLS. Not the Hamilton Bills or the Niagara Falls Bills. THE BUFFALO BILLS. The Jets and Giants play in the Meadowlands because NJ is NYC's suburbs just as Orchard Park is to Buffalo. Canada is not Buffalo. Niagara Falls is not Buffalo. Buffalo as a city does not benefit in either of those ideas, and shouldn't Buffalo be the city that gets awarded for keeping the Bills in WNY for so long? Downtown Buffalo or bust.
buffalobillsfootball Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 I seem to recall someone bringing up Hamilton a few weeks ago... http://forums.twobil...e__hl__hamilton Termini speaks the truth, so he will be pilloried for it. But does it have to be in Hamilton? Frankly I think NF, ON would be a more fun place for a stadium. You have casinos, hotels, tourist attractions, the "ballet". You could hold special events, like a bowl game or Super Bowl, because you have infrastructure. PTR Frankly, if they are going to build a new stadium in Niagara Falls - it better be on the US side. Our economy needs it more than theirs...

DDD Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 With no other options, a move to Hamilton would be a heck of alot easier to stomach. If they Bills move to Toronto, Buffalo will lose all identity with the NFL. If in Hamilton, there would be more of a connection IMO.
sodbuster Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Ballet? Promo, my spouse and I have been looking to take our kids to the ballet for some time now. We can't seem to find any performances of quality nearby, what venue in Niagara Falls Ontario has high level ballet? I didn't even know they had a performance arts center!! thanks in advance, Sometimes there are no words...
May Day 10 Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 They are breaking ground for a brand-new CFL Stadium that is only upgradeable to 40K. For the TiCats. No way in hell they allow a new NFL stadium to obsolete their shiny new investment.

Buftex Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 EXACTLY. The problem is that doing business in Niagara Falls is you have to do business with some of the scummiest, most backward thinking idiots in the country. They can't even take advantage of Niagara Falls. If I was a politician in Niagara Falls and I looked at what Niagara Falls, Ontario has accomplished in the past 20 years and then I looked at the cesspool I allow to fester, I would commit Hari-Kari. I may be off here, but I seem to remember, from my youth, my dad (a police officer in Niagra Falls at the time) mentioning, more than once, that there had been some long-standing agreement between the US and Canada, that the US side of the falls would remain "naturalized", and would not be commercialized to the detrimnet of the natural beauty of the Falls. I guess the US lost the coin toss?
BillsBiker Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Build it at the bottom of the falls. Then build 400 elevators and 75 zip lines that the fans have to use to get to the stadium. I like this Dorkula Idea! People already piss in the sinks... mise well zip line across the falls, drunk, pissing....

BuffaloRebound Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I like the idea of a downtown stadium better than Niagara Falls. Unless we take it from Canada, they'll always have the better view of the Falls. NY side of the Falls should expand on the park aspect that it has. Love taking my kids to walk around goat island when I come back to WNY. Falls are a natural wonder, make the NY side a big national park with campgrounds and a few hotels.
dickleyjones Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 i am from hamilton. this is a terrible idea. our inept local government has had a hard enough time upgrading ivor wynne stadium, an NFL stadium is waaaaay over their heads. it would sadden me to see the Bills move anywhere. as bills1960 puts it, "these are the Buffalo Bills".
T master Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 EXACTLY. Would a stadium in Niagara Falls work? Would it benefit Buffalo and not just the Bills to regionalize with the Wonder of the World tourist destination next door? Should the politicians who all have their hands in each others pockets and are wasting an amazing resource be lined up and stoned? The answer to all of those questions is a simple and resounding yes. That being said, maybe Termini is suggesting Hamilton because he's hoping for a vocal outcry and reaction from Niagara Falls. It might be the only way to get those meth head politicians' attention. NY State politicians have been way out of the western NY loop for a long time when it comes to giving out money most all of it goes to the cesspool that is NYC which leaves little or none left for the rest of the state . We could have already had a decision to build a new stadium if Guilianni wouldn't have already given most all of the future monies to build the Yankees & the Mets brand new stadiums , why didn't they just do what the Jets & Giants did build one stadium for both in the city then there would have been enough left over for The bills but NOOOOO !! Until there is a different thought pattern in electing officials it will never change but in order for the Bills to be viable in western NY they need a better stadium or like Chicago & Green Bay major renovations to the Ralph . And developers should stick to what they do best & leave football to the people that do that !!!!
bowery4 Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Well, there is a point to be made here, that really no one is making. The Bills franchise may just move somewhere else when RW pass on. If it does it won't be coming back to Buffalo any time soon (and if it was back in the area, chances are it would be in TO or nearer to it than Buffalo), since that is the case and there is nothing the fans in Buffalo can do about it, I do think he may have a point in suggesting that the future maybe best served by actually having the team on the other side of the bridge. It is about at the 1/2 way point between here and TO and only when you include TO in the metro area of Buffalo do you get the numbers that make the WNY area a large enough demographic for the NFL to stay interested in long term. I of course don't like those facts but I think that is what he is saying IMO.
