yall Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 So, you are happy that he didn't blow it sooner like in the jets game? It doesn't matter when it happens, it happened. Fact is, Fitz is never going to win a game when he is given too many chances to throw. He will find a way to make a mistake. Yeah the d was terrible, but without the turnovers, the Titans are only scoring 21. That's not a huge deficit. But the D was worse. That's the point that seems to be lost in the din.
bobobonators Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I think most of us agree. The D sucks and the qb is average. Not a winning combo. An average qb and a good D can win often. A great qb and an average d can win too... We have neither. pretty much. well said.
thebug Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Fitz played just like I thought he would and the D !@#$in sucked. Fitz looks half decent against the crap teams and looks like crap against the half decent teams. I think the D can get better, Fitz, I doubt it.
DFITZ1 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 But the D was worse. That's the point that seems to be lost in the din. The D cannot make a clutch play, as seen by all the 3rd and long conversions allowed, not to mention the losing TD which was on 4th down.
CardinalScotts Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 If we had any sort of defense we run it punt it and win the game on D...but we don't so we are forced to try for the first down....giving up 40 a game

Gailey isn't an idiot (though that may be up for debate still), we're throwing there b/c we NEED that first down. Do people honestly think this defense wouldn't have given up an 80yd drive to win the game if we punted? the titans wouuld've probably done it in about 6 plays at the rate we give up yards.. This offense simply has no room for error pretty much every single game.
Virgil Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 It's not that Chan is an idiot, but he is too loyal for his own good. His integrity of me before everyone else is great in theory and should be used to hold off the rapid media and fans after isolated incidents, but the time has come for him to make changes. There is no way that, if the D and Fitz stay this way, leading to many more losses, that he keeps his job. He just won't do what needs to be done and it's going to cost him.

(see bold in the quotes, if you haven't already) Chan's late game play calling is starting to resemble Dick Jauron's (remember the JP fumble that gave a win to the Jets).
