buffalobillsfootball Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Per NFL Network... The NFL and NFLPA have confirmed that Goodell is recusing himself from the upcoming Bountygate appeals. He will be replaced by former commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
mrags Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 What the hell does recuse himself mean? Is he resigning? Or is this just something for the bounty gate thing?
buffalobillsfootball Posted October 19, 2012 Author Posted October 19, 2012 Just for bounty appeals process. Tagliabue will hear the appeals Oct 30th.

mrags Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Oh. Got ya. Hell, Tagliabue came from a league of real football. I sure hope he doesn't tale the Goodell "wussy" way out.
NoSaint Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Oh. Got ya. Hell, Tagliabue came from a league of real football. I sure hope he doesn't tale the Goodell "wussy" way out. The biggest thing is that he shouldn't be ruling on anything but what's been presented. This will ideally (for both sides) cut out some of that 50k pages of proof that really boils down to a few hundred. The nfl will not be able to rely on the idea of a mosaic that's pieced together by stuff never presented. It will be all on the stuff that they are confident about (good or bad for either side). Whether that'll happen, who knows but this was the obviously right move in the process.
