/dev/null Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 This ruling may impact one of the founding legal principles of Western Civilization http://atlanta.cbslocal.com/2012/10/17/study-germs-trump-five-second-rule/
Beerball Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 poor baby carrots, killed for a scientific experiment
Just Jack Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 They could have simply watched Mythbusters a couple years ago... http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/videos/five-second-rule-minimyth.htm
MDH Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 The counter was the dirtiest area - I don't even consider that part of the 5 second rule. If something hits the counter it's no big deal. But according to this you're better off with the food dropping on the tiled floor of your kitchen than you are the kitchen counter...
HamSandwhich Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Lol, the problem I see with this study is who is funding it. Clorox...hmmmm Secondly, baby carrots tend to be wet, I wouldnt eat that off the floor after 5 seconds. I would like to see this with something that is dry. Not sure if it was done in mythbusters.

Jim in Anchorage Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Mythbusters used a cracker for one of their test subjects. Whats this got to do with southern white folks?
Chef Jim Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Did they blow on it first before the tested it? Because if they didn't the study it terribly flawed.
Steve O Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 dang, always thought it was a 6 second rule...guess I'm really in trouble
/dev/null Posted October 19, 2012 Author Posted October 19, 2012 Mythbusters used a cracker for one of their test subjects. This cracker volunteers to be Kari Byron's subject anytime
