San Jose Bills Fan
Here's another pearl: 2-14 teams win a couple of games every year. Which brings us to the corollary of the "good teams" theorem. "Bad teams lose close football games."
Hazed and Amuzed
I completely understand the nature of the OPs thought process, I've had the same thought process myself. I can't tell you how many times I was fooled into thinking that this team was on the cusp of becoming a powerhouse because they were "learning to win the tough games". I was wrong every time. Last year was the best example of this when we came back to beat the Pats and Raiders. I've since come to understand that quality of win takes a backseat to consistency. Show me a team that can win division games on a consistent basis, a team that can win on the road and a team that doesn't quit no matter if they're in the lead by a lot or down by a lot and i'll show you a playoff team. Sisyphean Bills
Which brings us to the corollary of the "good teams" theorem. "Bad teams lose close football games." Have you forgotten the third hand corollary so soon? "Dick Jauron teams win close football games." (We can ignore that they also lose close games and get blown out every once in a while for the sake of numbin' it down.)
