Over 29 years of fanhood Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) you are wrong sir.........Fitz was the problem this weekend. Just another putrid performance. everyone else looked pretty good IMO. even Mario Millions chipped in with a little hustle Fitz really was the problem. By position he had the poorest performance. The wr's were open and the ground game got yards, both run and pass d were respectable. Fitz missed open guy after wide open guy. The two runs 2nd & long and 3rd & long at the end of regulation tell you what chan really thinks about his qb. Edited October 15, 2012 by over 20 years of fanhood
BuffaloBaumer Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Fitz really was the problem. By position he had the poorest performance. The wr's were open the ground game got yards, both run and pass d were respectable. Fitz miss wide open guy after wise open guy. The two runs 2nd & long and 3rd & long at the end if regulation tell you what chan really thinks about his qb. This is precisely what I mean, Chan has lost faith in Fitz and it's obvious. Stevie is about as close as you can get (and who knows if there are others) to exploding in that lockerroom.
bigc14120 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Actually, if we were going to see somebody when the real bullets are flying, I would prefer to see what T Jackson could do. He has been here 6 weeks now, and should not be the neophyte he was with one week of study. We might find out something if we did that, not going to learn anything putting Smith in there, he is not a full time NFL QB. Smioth is really a Steve Tasker type....special teams, receiver, some QB....or going back another generation, an Eddie Rutkowski type.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 The WC in Buff has far better than what I have seen with TBow and the NYETS. no play is perfect. I've wanted to see a pass from the WC, but NOT in the 4th qtr. and Fitz hasn't been the same since his injury
ko12010 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I can't STAND the wildcat so this is not the normal thought process. Fitz has proven that he can BARELY beat the mediocre teams while also proving he CAN'T beat the better teams in the leaugue. Why not take the safe route and play Fitz at home against a mediocre team and then throw caution to the wind when they play Houston and NE. Fitz will not beat these two teams and is proving to be getting worse as the season continues. Throw Brad Smith (that is tough to type) in the backfield exclusively with Fred or Spiller next to him. Give Brad Smith the freedom to throw if he wants and utilize the strongest part of your offense (the run game.) Chandler and TJ need to be a major factor and if they need to get gimmicky on O, it's worth it to come up with the upset. Bring Fitz back in after these 2 games if you want and see what happens. The way Fitz is throwing the ball, you are basically conceding the games vs Houston's D and the Pats O. Give these players a CHANCE to win and let's play some meaningful games in December. Smith CAN'T play any worse than Fitz and he KNOWS the O. Imo this is a good idea. If Smith got some serious reps and had the authority to throw when he wanted, it could work out--at least for a while. Idk how good Smith is at processing info and reading defenses, but he can throw better than Fitz, Thig, and Jax. Smith actually has a very good arm and can make the NFL throws. I'd be all for it. Like you said, he wouldn't do worse than Fitz at this point. It would likely take some teams by surprise and we might be able to take 2 out of the next 3 instead of the likely 0 or 1 with our status quo. It could be Tebow-esque. The Broncos took the league by storm with a unique approach that lasted most of the season. It could be our ticket into the playoffs. If we don't change anything, we're looking at 6 wins maybe 7. Throwing a wrench into how other teams approach us could result in a temporary lift and maybe 9 or 10 wins and the playoffs. It likely wouldn't carry into next season but who cares. We can salvage this season and with all the parity in the league anyone can win it all. Except probably the Chiefs and Jags.
