BuffaloBaumer Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) I can't STAND the wildcat so this is not the normal thought process. Fitz has proven that he can BARELY beat the mediocre teams while also proving he CAN'T beat the better teams in the leaugue. Why not take the safe route and play Fitz at home against a mediocre team and then throw caution to the wind when they play Houston and NE. Fitz will not beat these two teams and is proving to be getting worse as the season continues. Throw Brad Smith (that is tough to type) in the backfield exclusively with Fred or Spiller next to him. Give Brad Smith the freedom to throw if he wants and utilize the strongest part of your offense (the run game.) Chandler and TJ need to be a major factor and if they need to get gimmicky on O, it's worth it to come up with the upset. Bring Fitz back in after these 2 games if you want and see what happens. The way Fitz is throwing the ball, you are basically conceding the games vs Houston's D and the Pats O. Give these players a CHANCE to win and let's play some meaningful games in December. Smith CAN'T play any worse than Fitz and he KNOWS the O. Edited October 15, 2012 by BuffaloBaumer
BuffaloBaumer Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 lol Would you rather just concede the 2 games? They will get crushed. Maybe you enjoyed watching those 3 losses to NY, NE and San Fran?

Just another putrid performance. everyone else looked pretty good IMO. even Mario Millions chipped in with a little hustle Edited October 15, 2012 by Ryan L Billz
Optometric Insight Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Good way to try to bring humor back to this board. Starting Smith is a good way to concede the season, thats pretty much it.

mrags Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I'd Much rather have the largest hemroid ever than see Brad Smith in for an entire game.
Dante Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Knowing Smith won't throw deep the d's would just suffocate us. Bad idea.
Optometric Insight Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 So you think Fitz can beat Houston or NE in NE huh? I think it would be pretty tough for one person beat two good teams. Fitz and a running offense with reasonable playcalling? I like that better
BuffaloBaumer Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Knowing Smith won't throw deep the d's would just suffocate us. Bad idea. That is exactly what is already happening. There was one deep ball thrown yesterday and it was not even made by our starting QB. Fitz is getting WORSE by the week
prissythecat Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 everyone else looked pretty good IMO. even Mario Millions chipped in with a little hustle Hmmm. exactly which part of the team looked good? The Defense against a horrible Cardinals offensive line? How about all those costly drive prolonging scrambles they allowed against Kevin Kolb. Did our special teams play well with some shaky punts or the muffed punt downing that resulted in a touchback in OT? Did Freddie's game opening fumble along with his 3.3 ypc look pretty good? Our Bad QB play is compounded by bad play in other areas.
Mark80 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Start Brad Smith??? Ha ha ha ha ha ha. That's pretty funny. While Fitz is certainly not ever going to be an elite quarterback by any means, he's by far the best that we've got at this point. You say he can't beat the Pats? Well, he did beat the Pats last season. He had them beat this year except for a goaline fumble at the end of the half by Spiller and then a non-existent Defense in the second half. He also had them off to a 21-0 lead last season as well before the D collapsed, again. Fitz is what he is, the coaches just need to call better plays. I mean, how many times are they going to throw long on 3rd and short instead of using our strength in running the dang ball? The obvious wildcat disaster, the fact that they didn't even attempt to get a first down at the end of the game once it was second and long, the horrific defensive schemes in the Jets, Pats, SF games where they didn't blitz a single linebacker in any game. Put Fitz in a position where he is down big and needs to throw downfield into coverage defenses and he's going to struggle. Keep the game close, run the ball, call conservative 5-20 yard pass plays, get him to scramble some, and he is just fine. We should be petitioning for a coaching change over a QB change.

A muffed punt downing on special teams? As i said before......Bills looked good everywhere but QB......Spiller more touches and lets go. ---release Fitz now
HamSandwhich Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 you are wrong sir.........Fitz was the problem this weekend. Just another putrid performance. everyone else looked pretty good IMO. even Mario Millions chipped in with a little hustle Thats right, just this weekend, he's not that futile all the time. People need to stop making it more than it is. He had a bad game, he can't be solely to blame here or in the other two blowouts.
Billy in 4C Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Brad Smith's Buffalo Bills career passing stats: 0-2, 2 Ints.... no thanks on being the starting QB.
bobobonators Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 some posters on this board have literally gone mad. WOW.
BuffaloBaumer Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 some posters on this board have literally gone mad. WOW. 2 games, it's 2 games. Get back to me after you see the final scores of those two games with Fitz at the helm.
bobobonators Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 2 games, it's 2 games. Get back to me after you see the final scores of those two games with Fitz at the helm. get back to me when Smith starts a game in the NFL.
HamSandwhich Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 This topic is weird, why would you make the thread say "Start Fitz..."? You should say start Smith after the bye or something. I dont know why that bothers me so much, but it does. It's just misleading.
