BisonMan Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 OK, it's waaaaay too early to talk about this but checking the standings, the Bills are currently the 6th seed due to tie-breakers over Cincy and Miami. Who'd a thunk it
ganesh Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 The Bills are currently in 4th place in the AFC East on a 4-way tie with all the tie breakers against them. How would they be a wild card ?
Chilly Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Bills hold the common opponents tiebreaker over Miami. Check the playoffs standings on espn

How would they be a wild card ? Bills would have the last wildcard spot. Wins tie break over Cincinnati based on best win percentage in conference games. Division tie break was initially used to eliminate Miami (Buffalo wins tie break over Miami based on best win percentage in common games). /ESPN/
sodbuster Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 This thread makes me realize how weak the AFC is this year.

Division tie break was initially used to eliminate Miami (Buffalo wins tie break over Miami based on best win percentage in common games). /ESPN/ That's true--- strangely, playoff tiebreakers and division tiebreakers are not built on the same logic. It's something that seemed to come up every year when the Bills were still mathematically in contention toward the end of each season from 2002-2008 or so. Edited October 15, 2012 by Punch
Rico Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 This thread makes me realize how weak the AFC is this year. Indeed. Houston and the Ravens are both fraud teams at the top right now, this would be a great year to sneak in & do some damage... providing the Bills improve during the season & are not a fraud team themselves, of course. Probably also providing somebody else knocks out the Pats first.
Badasss Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Bills r in 4th place in their division because their divisional record is 0-2. However, if the season were to end today, all 3 wild cards would be from the AFC East.

Shoutbox Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 This thread makes me realize how weak the AFC is this year. There are only 3 AFC teams above .500 at the moment, and this may drop to 2 (Texans, Ravens) if the Chargers lose to the Broncos tomorrow night. Perfect time for a mediocre team like the Bills to sneak into the playoffs.

Dorkington Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) Hilarious. We barely deserve to be in the NFL, let alone the playoffs. Edited October 15, 2012 by Dorkington
Just Jack Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Then what? Then the first game would have the Bills traveling to NE and losing, 386-2. (Yes, Brady feels sorry for the Bills and lays down for a safety in the 1st quarter with the score 143-0. Belicheat immediately benches him for the rest of the game)
Saint Doug Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 This is doesn't matter. We still have Fitz as our QB. Where's that going to get us?

BisonMan Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 link? Should have added this to the OP: http://espn.go.com/nfl/standings/_/type/playoffs/sort/conferenceRank/order/false Savor this while you can. I have the feeling it won't last.
