KD in CA
Seriously?? These idiots are so desparate they are dusting off the 'Jack Kennedy' line? The funny part is Jack Kennedy would be run out of town by the left wing loonies today.

CosmicBills
How many times was that line practiced Biden is an experienced political operative and quite capable of delivering a good line -- but I gotta say, my first instinct on it was that it wasn't rehearsed. That one seemed a genuine reflex. Of course, I also think Rick Moranis is the most under-appreciated actor of his generation, so I could be wrong about that. Still, both made me laugh. /dev/null
Seemed spontaneous. Who knew Ryan was going to reference jack Kennedy ? News Flash: "Spontaneous" lines are practiced in advance. Both sides have "spontaneous" lines in their playbook waiting for the right opportunity Kind of like a double reverse flea flicker. Rob's House
Who cares if it was spontaneous or not. It wasn't even a very good line. At best is was a mildly amusing throw back that might have made Joe seem witty (or obnoxious; could go either way) but in no way did it make Ryan look bad, & in context it was actually a fairly stupid line. It didn't get much reaction from the audience either.
BillsFan-4-Ever
Yes it was. what's thet term people use? Pwned? "Different than this administration, we actually want to have big, bipartisan agreements," Ryan said, In response—and attempting to defend Romney's controversial 47 percent remark—Ryan said (to laughter), "I think the vice president knows, sometimes the words don't always come out of your mouth the way you want." "But I always say what I mean," Biden retorted with a grin. Ryan also claimed that bipartisanship could make his ticket's vague proposed tax plan work. bipartisanship from the party of Hell No? bipartisanship from the party that wanted to see Obama's policy FAIL? "It is mathematically possible," Ryan responded. "Jack Kennedy lowered taxes and raised revenue." "Oh, now you're Jack Kennedy," Biden said, evoking visions of the 1988 vice-presidential debate between Lloyd Bentsen and Dan Quayle. ("Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy, I knew Jack Kennedy, Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine," Bentsen had said. "Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy.") last question: "If you were elected, what would you both give to this country as a man, and human being, that no one else could?" Ryan suggested his capacity to solve problems, but then rattled off statistics about jobs and the economy instead of sticking with the question. Biden, casual, went broad: "Let me tell ya," he said. "My record stands for itself. Whatever I say, I do. I treat Main Street and Wall Street the same. You grow this country from the middle out, not the top down." Biden made him look like a teen idol, what they didn't want to do when they had this photo shoot done. BillsFan-4-Ever
so I embellished. That's a crime? Everyone here does it. RYAN: "We cannot allow Iran to gain a nuclear weapons capability. Now, let's take a look at where we've gone — come from. When Barack Obama was elected, they had enough fissile material — nuclear material — to make one bomb. Now they have enough for five. They're racing toward a nuclear weapon. They're four years closer toward a nuclear weapons capability." THE FACTS: Ryan's claim is misleading. Iran isn't believed to have produced any of the highly enriched uranium needed to produce even one nuclear weapon, let alone five. That point isn't even disputed by Israel, whose Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu implored the world at the United Nations last month to create a "red line" at enrichment above 20 percent. Iran would have to enrich uranium at much higher levels to produce a weapon. There is intelligence suggesting that Iran has worked on weapon designs, but not that it has developed a delivery system for any potential nuclear warhead. Doc
The Repubs might have wanted to see Barry fail, but he failed all on his own. Two years of majority control of congress and 4-1/2 months of a super-majority in the Senate. Barry owns the state of the country, and that's something that he and Joe can't escape, and how Ryan won the debate with his closing remarks. As for what the "intelligence" community says about Iran, Joe was trying to claim that the intelligence community said the Libya attack was about the movie, and that that was the reason they kept making that claim for over a week. But the intelligence community say that they knew that night it was a planned terrorist attack. So which is it? Intelligence failure or a cover-up? As for what the "intelligence" community says about Iran, The same "intelligence" community that said SoDumb had WMD? All Presidents deal with opposition during their Presidency. Few have the luxury of a supermajority for 2 years. Being too inept to get more of his agenda through rests squarely on his shoulders. The Democratic congress didn't just roll over for Reagan. He was good at political negotiations, and when he had to he used the bully pulpit to tell the country what these guys were doing to hold up the works. Obama couldn't do this because 1. His narcissistic arrogance blew away any chance of diplomacy, & 2. He couldn't go to the public to put pressure on congress because the particulars of his agenda were unpopular. The guy is a legendary success in the field of political marketing, but he's a legendary failure as a President, and all the excuses & finger pointing in the world can't change that. It's actually kind of sad how pathetically you guys cling to these excuses, because it's painfully obvious that although on the surface you're trying to convince others, underneath you need those crutches to convince yourselves so as not to have to face the sad truth that your hero that you fawned over, like a teenage girl fawning over a boy band, is a fraud, a loser, & a failure. Nanker
Jokin' Joe gave America an object lesson in why Washington is !@#$ed up. Instead of debating on the facts, he demonized, laughed inappropriately, INTERRUPTED, was rude, snorted and generally comported himself as a classless buffoon to his political opponent. BO said he was never more proud of Joe. This is what they do to their "enemies". They have no interest in engaging them in dialogue or bipartisan negotiations. It's their way or the highway. He wasn't a tool last night. He was the whole tool chest. They're absolutely desperate and it shows every time they talk.
DC Tom
Who would have thought Biden's performance would energize both the democrats and republicans. So Biden, let's say you cut the loopholes for the "super wealthy", which won't pay for everything Obama has promised, where does the other money come from? How are you going to address cost shifting in medical care, prescription drug prices, and rising health care costs? Obama care doesn't address any of this. Tell us again how the CIA Intel sucks in Libya, but how great it is in Iran. So Ryan, give specifics about your tax cuts? Are you going to start prosecuting for fraud on wall street? How about specifics on health care? What are you going to do about the outsourcing Americans jobs while bringing in foreign workers. In defense of Ryan last night, he couldn't get into any details, since he couldn't get a third of a way through an answer without Biden calling "bull ****!"
