The left is getting more scary by the day. No wonder McCarthy went after them so hard.

Michigan CEO "Tells" Employees to Vote for Romney or Else - http://www.dailykos....-Romney-or-Else

Sounds like something out of North Korea. Sounds like an obvious case of voter intimidation. Those thugs.

... not saying that Unions should do this, they shouldn't. But the bad actions of a Union does not make you fact free Republicans any more correct regarding any of the plethora of topics you are completely wrong on.

There is already a thread on this topic, but I'll respond briefly anyway.

The CEO in question said no such thing. In fact he specifically says that he respects their franchise and that they should feel free to vote for whomever they think best represents their values. Furthermore, he has no way of knowing who they vote for. He certainly isn't planning on being in the booth with them.

This is wrongly conflating voter intimidation with expressing what his plans for his business will be if the entire country re-elects the sitting president. (to sell it and retire) Furthermore, in doing so he has actually done his employees a service by giving them a full month to build a contingency plan so they can prepare.

This situation couldn't possibly be more different than a union actively intimidating, and imposing fines on, members who won't actively support their preferred candidate leading into the election.

You have to recognize that it's the same thing in Conner's world.

Excellent post. Now could you post something that actually demonstrates voter intimidation by the right? We'll wait.

"Koch Industries, other CEOs warn employees of layoffs if Obama is reelected"

It's !@#$ing subtle (sort of). Obviously for legal reasons they cannot directly say "vote Romney or we'll fire you". If they did that they would end up getting sued.

The party of "choice"

and tolerance dammit, don't forget tolerance!

Ahh, it's my favorite..."elephants = sea shells, because they are both grey" poster.

A CEO laying out clearly what he sees as the future of the company given political, competitive or any other external activity...is doing his job.

We could also say that these union bosses are doing their jobs.

Which one is a violation of a number of both state and Federal laws? Hint: not the first one.

How exactly is the CEO of a company going to know which employees voted for Obama (and hence which to lay off)?

I find it hysterical (and somewhat sad) that there are people SO ignorant of the world that they honestly think a CEO of a large company is going to instruct his people to cherry pick employees to lay off not based on value to the company, productivity, etc. but based on who they voted for. I guess if you pump gas or are buried in back room gov't job all your life you just have no idea how the world works, right conner? I guess it's easier for them to stay ignorant and angry.

Well BO and his team, only closed conservative GM/Chrysler dealerships, right?

Yes!

Where is MDP? We could have a conner/MDP battle royale!

It's a puzzle: Would CEOs rather continue to steal equity(EDIT: or whateverthef he was saying) from their laborers....or fire them for voting for Obama?

Ready.....GO!

If by !@#$ing subtle you mean not even in the same universe as the union tactics, yes, you're absolutely right.

So you think that letter was actually trying to say "vote for Romney or we'll fire you"?

Did they? That wouldn't be surprising.

It also wouldn't be surprising that an Obama knob bobber would be too stupid to understand the difference between being able to evaluate the political leanings of one high-profile person (like the owner of an auto dealership) verses doing so for thousands of very low-profile people (like rank and file employees of a large company).

But carry on....

just trying to point out that the left loves to project their misguided ideals onto the GOP.
