BillsPride12 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Has anybody else noticed JJ Watt is so good he never gets tagged with the "High-Motor" label. I just find it funny because here is a guy that plays balls to the wall every down and takes on plenty of double teams every game and can push through the doubles yet I don't think I have ever heard the phrase "High-Motor" used to describe him. To me it just proves even further that the high motor label is a friendly way of describing a white defensive lineman who isn't very good lol....come to think of it I don't think JJ Watt has ever brought his lunch pail with him on sundays either haha.
DDD Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) He was a beast against the Jets monday night. The adjectives high motor and intelligent are ingrained to describe the white football player. Like black athletes can't play with intentensity or be smart, or white athletes can't be gifted athletically. It's asinine. Edited October 11, 2012 by Mr. Wonderful
San Jose Bills Fan Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 BTW, the two leading sackers in the NFL are both caucasian, as is last year's sack leader. How bad is that for the stereotype business?

He has been described as high motor quite a bit it's just that he is kicking ass too. PS; can we trade Mario for him
CarolinaBill Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 every black Qb in the modern era has been labeled a dual threat or run first Qb by some idiot...hell, i bet if you look back somebody thought Byron Leftwich had "wheels".

A bit off-topic, but I remember when we drafted Dareus thinking that I'd be equally happy if we drafted Watt. He is absolutely dominant.
5 Wide Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Hahaha that's sad but your absolutely right. And they can be "well spoken"
FitzShowUsYourTitz Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I'm with you. Two terms I hate: "High-Motor" For !**&%&^ Sake. The average play lasts 6 seconds or less....and they are paid millions! Just play every play as hard as you can to the whistle. All 6 seconds if need be. The other is Ball-Hawk. Please stop.
AReed Deep For6 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I hate "a cornerback is just a receiver who can't catch." although the cant catch part can be true sometimes, i would argue its a helluva lot harder to cover someone than it is to get open.
