NastyNateSoldiers Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Buddy says today after watching film of our Defense these last two gms. He says we are lacking Intensity and Urgency. My question here is that after drafting predominantly High Character nice guys these last 7 or 8yrs. Is there a connection between having to many High character nice guys? As aposed to having a good mixture of on field Thugs, ie Ray Lewis, Cortland Finigen, Suh, J Harrison I believe every team should have some of these kinds of players. I'm not talking about trouble makers off the field. Is this the reason why we have no TRUE LEADERSHIP ON THIS TEAM? I believe it is. Flame away
NastyNateSoldiers Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 There was a time from the 90's to early 2k's that we were known as a LineBacker factory. What happened to those days? We used to draft them Cowart,D Covington, Shane Conlon, Bennett, Talley. We used to sign them Speilman, Paup, etc, etc. These guys all had Intencity, leadership, killer instinct. We need to get back to our idenity.
sodbuster Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) You don't need to be a thug to be intense. Tim Tebow. Now flame me. I realize he doesn't play defense, but it kinda works to your point. Edited October 9, 2012 by sodbuster
Delete This Account Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 GM Buddy Nix calls out defense for lacking urgency, says DE Mario Williams doesn't deserve all the blame, and maintains confidence in Chan Gailey. will update further with one more version in about an hour. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/bills-gm-nix-criticizes-defenses-185507199--nfl.html jw
NastyNateSoldiers Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 Tim Tebow is very intense, and that's what gets him on the field. Its definatly not his talent. He is an exception to the rule. I can name u 10 on field thug types for every 1 Tebow type. I'm basically saying that we seem to nice. I don't see anyone ptting fear in the opposing team from our D. Ever since Juaron showed up the Bills hit people like a bag of Donuts. Soft. Is there a correlation between being nice character guys and being soft for the most part. Stevie Johnson said this week that he feels like voicing his opinoin on the sidelines. But the playyers don't listen and that there more worried about people thinking there making a fool out of themselves. That is a problem. These guys are more worried about looking cool then getting there asses kicked on the field.

The dude is not a leader and never will be one. Until this year (since he's roped in his is "celebrations") he was more like the class clown.

Best Player Available Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Boring, corporate tow the line talk. Nothing too see here, except and old first time GM in way over his head. Standing by his coach? In most situations what he said is typically the kiss of death. Here they will probably extend Gailey after their next win.

I can't post a link from this wgr app. Its on his interview on the wgr site. He said alot he feels players feel awkward ripping each other on the sidelines.

Man this team is sackless.
CodeMonkey Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Bills GM Buddy Nix rips team's D That is your idea of ripping on the D? This is the most harsh thing in the article: ''Obviously, we're' not pleased with it. There's really no excuse for losing the way we did,'' Nix said. ''Kind of puzzled at the way those two games went. We've got to find some answers.'' If Nix really wants to rip on the D all he has to do is plagiarize from here, not that softball bull ****. HeHateMe Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Want some urgency? Start firing people for not doing their job. If the players are not doing their jobs, put in the backups and rookies FFS. Can we give 100 Million to JJ Watt instead? Edited October 9, 2012 by kobe808lak
NastyNateSoldiers Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 We could of traded down and drafted Wattt for a lot less then that. Buddy liked him he brought him in twice for visits. Btw what happened to Kellen Heard? The guy looked like he was developing at the end of last yr. 2sacks against The Pats in week 17. I know he got hurt in training camp. But it wasn't serious.

I have to disagree with Nix. If the Defense is lacking "urgency" someone is to blame. These players are in the NFL. They should be self-motovated to kick the other teams a$$. Williams is the highest paid defensive player in NFL history. If the coaches won't take on leadership, he must. Although, it might be hard when you are currently underperforming. Want some urgency? Start firing people for not doing their job. If the players are not doing their jobs, put in the backups and rookies FFS. Can we give 100 Million to JJ Watt instead? I 100% agree. Bench Mario and Fitz for the next game. They both look lost/lackadaisical out there. That will send a message to them and the team. Norv Turner benched R. Mathews and he got the message. Chan doesn't have the balls to do something like that.
