quinnearlysghost88 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 He puts the ball at the goal line on the majority of kicks, and they're drilled so they get to the KR fast, even if they are deeper in the end zone. Lindell could do the same. exact. thing.
Fan in San Diego Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 We are the only team doing this and he is not getting them out of the end zone. Another failed idea by Chan.

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Akers, who is like 50, was drilling all of his kicks out of bounds. I could live with Potter if he was doing what he's supposed to be doing.
Captain Hindsight Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Clearly this was the problem yesterday. It wouldnt shock me if we release him this week to sign an O lineman and bring him back
nateodoms'bff Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Because the kid can kick like a mule and will be Lindell's replacement next year. Just wait until Lindell misses one from 45 in the wind. Then you'll see why Potter is here.

What else would we do with that spot? Better question is why are we wasting a roster spot on Ruvell Martin?
apuszczalowski Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 ^^^^ This Also why does it matter if we're wasting a roster spot on a KOS? What else would we do with that spot? Better question is why are we wasting a roster spot on Ruvell Martin? Exactly, its not like he is keeping a starting caliber player off the roster. I never get why people are so quickly to complain about keeping a depth/specialty player on the roster unless theres someone available right now that can do that job better then somoene else or theres a situation where the team needs that spot to fill a starting job. I would question why Ruvell is on the roster more then a KOS
quinnearlysghost88 Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 I get that Potter will be good, but keep him on the practice squad. He doesn't bring some crazy dynamic to our kick-offs. I'm certain you could use the spot for any other position. If you really feel that Potter can kick like a mule, then dump Lindell. Why keep two kickers? Would you keep Moorman around for kick-off punts after safeties, because he's really good at non-rushed punts?
Dragonborn10 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I would rather we not have 3 QB's and one QB/WR on the roster than worry about having two kickers. Time to let Thigpen go and add a LB.
K-9 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Because it's better than wasting a roster spot on a jack-off specialist? GO BILLS!!!
DefenseWinzChampionshipz Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 When the fans start to make more logic than the coaches, it's time for the coaches to go... That's all I'm saying...
Saint Doug Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I got my torch and pitchfork, where's his house?!?
tennesseeboy Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The way this team is playing, it seems we're wasting roster spots on dam near every position.

I could live with Potter if he was doing what he's supposed to be doing. You fail to observe the obvious The ST coach is the same one who insisted our Pro Bowl punter kick short and out-of-bounds to eliminate returrns. It makes perfect sense that he would direct our kicker with the big leg to kick short to force returns, instead of booming it thru the end zone as one would expect Edited October 8, 2012 by spartacus

Out of bounds is never a good thing on kickoffs unless there's something you like about giving the ball to the opponent at the 40. Just busting your chops. I know what you meant and I agree. Akers was kicking out of the end zone a lot. I think DeHaven wants high kickoffs to be returned. It's a planned strategy. While Lindel can do that too, he doesn't get the hang time. GO BILLS!!!
Nuncha Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Yup - Kick off specialist is a luxury for teams with future hall of famer's and DEPTH. We have neither. Why not fill that spot with a LB, DB, or WR that could actually contribue. Par for the course for this joke coaching staff.
