BuffaloBillsForever Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 If Nix or Gailey wants to fire Wannstedt there are viable candidates to take the position. I will say it again this week. Mangini could save this defense. He is a scheme master. Our main problem IMO with this defense is scheme, mismatches and making adjustments. I would love for the Bills to hire this guy in some position for the defense. At the very least Wannstedt could use some help.
Stl Bills Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Mangina has run a 3-4 everywhere he's been.....just saying.
Santana Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I say we give Perry Fewell a call after the season is over and offer him the HC job
Meathead Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 thats a good idea, turn them around so they are facing AWAY from the qb, cant be much worse

The LB's and CB's suck. The safeties are average as is the over-rated D-line. The defense can't possible be as bad as it has been the past 2 weeks but let's not kid ourselves...they are mediocre at best

TakeYouToTasker Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 There is no practical way to fire Wannstedt during the season as whomever they would bring in to replace him would: a) be at an incredible disadvantage being about 15 weeks behind the curve with his players not knowing his scheme or terminology b) have to sacrifice a ton of credibility with future employers, permanently damaging his career, by abandoning his current team mid-season c) be a lame duck going into next season, assuming that the Nix/Gailey regime is turned over To summarize, anyone they would bring in now would show up knowing they were being set up to fail, and no one we would want to run the show would consider taking the job under those conditions.
BuffaloFan68 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The more I think about Perry Fewell, the more I like it.

Sure there is a practical way to replace the current DC Dave Wannstooge, fire his moronic butt and replace him with Bob Sanders who was the DC with the packers 2005-2008 If the Bills really wanted to make some changes Marty Schotthenheimer is out there currently retired, he could come in and replace Gailey. That is if RW finally feels "comfortable" with him.

TakeYouToTasker Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The more I think about Perry Fewell, the more I like it. What in the world leads you to believe that the Giants would be willing to sacrifice their entire season by allowing their defensive-coordinator out of his contract to negotiate with other teams after week five?
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The more I think about Perry Fewell, the more I like it. He seemed like he was coming into his own spelling Jauron. The only way the bills get a great coach is give an up and comer a chance and get lucky.

You could probably hire him cheap with a very short-term contract & you also probably wouldn't have to include Brian S. Move Chan to OC, B word slap Wanny, & have Marty kicking ass & taking names with the players. Better just to hold your nose though & wait for the new ownership.

What leads you to believe that anyone on the current staff, who presided over our linebackers under both Edwards and Wannstedt, would offer any sort of improvement? Have you really been so enamoured with our linebacker play the last two years that you're saying, "YES!!!! That's the model for a successful NFL defense!" ?
NickelCity Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Should have given it to Fewell a long time ago.

ganesh Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Should have given it to Fewell a long time ago. Fewell chose Fitzpatrick as his QB....Enough said.
