eball Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 It's really pretty simple, and has all been laid out before, but it can be broken down succinctly as follows: -- fans aren't mad at Maybin because of where he was drafted, they're mad at him because he sucks and is a douche.
Rubes Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 It's really pretty simple, and has all been laid out before, but it can be broken down succinctly as follows: -- fans aren't mad at Maybin because of where he was drafted, they're mad at him because he sucks and is a douche. Well, that and the fact that they're pissed that he went to a division rival and proceeded to "appear" to be a force, effectively embarrassing their favorite team for letting a stud go and reinforcing the idea that we just don't know how to develop players. So we just want to make sure the record shows he's actually not a stud, he's still a goddamned bust, and hooray that the Jets have had the same problems getting him on the field. Something like that.
KD in CA Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 So we just want to make sure the record shows he's actually not a stud, he's still a goddamned bust, and hooray that the Jets have had the same problems getting him on the field. Exactly! But it's funny how the NYC media is working hard to project just the opposite. In every article I've read about Maybin it says how he "shed his bust label".
San Jose Bills Fan Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I dont know how hes doing now (don't commit much time to following former players). But I wish we still had him. None of our linebackers have the speed to be effective in blitz packages like he does. Doesn't matter that putting him on the field telegraphs we're blitzing ... it's no secret Pittsburgh have been blitzing more than anyone for decades, and it hasn't stopped them from having one of the best defenses in the league year in and year out. Nothing speaks more directly to your football knowledge than the bolded. Yeah because chan knows so much more about defense than Rex Ryan. Lol Because its such a well disguise secret James Harrison is blitzing for steeler. Double lol And then you start with the name calling… He is on a roll - one tackle so far this season. Wow, two whole snaps Sunday. Mayhem indeed. Yep. Maybin is not a good football player. For those advising others to "get over it" and "move on," this is a Buffalo Bills forum. We talk about current, former, and even sometimes future Buffalo Bills. Seeing as Maybin as a recent first round bust and now occupies a roster spot for a hated divisional rival, I don't see the problem in having a discussion about him. The "get over it police" should perhaps focus their attention on the posters still lamenting the trade of Daryl Lamonica.
K-9 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 ... The "get over it police" should perhaps focus their attention on the posters still lamenting the trade of Daryl Lamonica. Great! I'm JUST NOW getting over that debacle and you have to go and bring it up again. Thanks. Thanks a lot! GO BILLS!!!
Best Player Available Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Exactly! But it's funny how the NYC media is working hard to project just the opposite. In every article I've read about Maybin it says how he "shed his bust label". Maybe next year the Jets can sign McKelvin and rehab him, and his image.
K-9 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Maybe next year the Jets can sign McKelvin and rehab him, and his image. McKelvin is an actual football player with actual football skills, although ball awareness in coverage is not among them. Maybin is not a football player in ANY way, shape, or form. Especially shape and form. GO BILLS!!!
Nuncha Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Don't understand this incredible hate. Blame Modrak, not an 18 year old kid. Get over it. Certain expectaions come when you are a high number 1 draft pick, especially when you hold out. Don't understand the hate? Come on man. You must be related to Aaron...if so please tell him this: You still suck. Love, Everyone at two bills drive.
cage Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 It does not make me feel any better to know Maybins playing crappy ,Let's worry about the Buffalo Bills and who's on "our" team. Let It die! Amen!
Homey D. Clown Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Who? Isn't he the place holder for the Ottawa Rough Riders now?
K-9 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 What happened to that weight gain/loss idea that Maybin mentioned in that article before the season? He and the coaches were going to have him bulk up or slim down depending on the opponent and whether or not he would be more valuable in run support or rushing the passer. I laughed my ass off when I read that. Metabolic Maybin! GO BILLS!!!
Dorkington Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Sadly, our DEs haven't been much more productive.
bigc14120 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 There is an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal (yeh) about Maybin. Couldn't get the link over, sorry. Its in the weekend addition, under the New York tab. They talk about the pass rush specialist with NO sacks. (imagine!) Great picture of Cordy Glenn manhandling him as well.
first_and_ten Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 There is an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal (yeh) about Maybin. Couldn't get the link over, sorry. Again, couldn't care less about the failures of Maybin as a NY Jet. My concern is how bad the Bills defense is right now. No big surprise that Maybin is not very good.
FitzShowUsYourTitz Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) LMFAO!! Jets Have a Sack Specialist—With No Sacks Aaron Maybin has the body of a football player who could play many positions and do many things: 6-foot-4, 245 pounds, tapered and muscled from his shoulders through his torso, each hand seemingly the size of a tractor's scoop. He could catch passes as a wide receiver or tight end or intercept them as a safety, and over his two seasons with the Jets, he has lined up as both a linebacker and a defensive end. But Maybin does only one thing, really: He chases quarterbacks. Which means that this season, he hasn't done much of anything..." That reminds me of how the media talked about Tedi Bruschi, Half man, half God, possible centaur.... Link: http://online.wsj.co...IDDLETopStories That pic is awesome. It thought he would be gaining 60 lbs for running plays. Oh wait, this must have been a passing play! Edited October 6, 2012 by Cville Bills

jr1 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Maybin's watching Dirty Dancing on his iPad to learn new moves
K-9 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) He's not close to 245 lbs. And what he has isn't distributed like it should be for a player that needs to hold the POA and shed blocks. He's an overweight SS without the speed and athleticism for the position. GO BILLS!!! Edited October 6, 2012 by K-9
Punch Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Again, couldn't care less about the failures of Maybin as a NY Jet. My concern is how bad the Bills defense is right now. No big surprise that Maybin is not very good. Then why open the thread? There are plenty of other threads discussing the struggles of the current Bills.
Wayne Fontes Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 How did Maybin perform during the three snaps he played against Houston?
