Max997 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 1.) I agree that it didn't make sense to have Spiller in at the goal line but it was not a dive play. The ball was at the 4 or 5 yard line Also why in the world would the defense be looking for a screen if Choice was in there? How often do you see teams run screens inside the 5? 2.) it was a blown coverage, it happens What concerns me the most is how often the players on defense looked confused and the overall lack of adjustments made. It was clear their gameplan wasn't working yet they just kept going with it even when they were getting torched play after play on the ground This coaching staff blows

I wasn't serious about the screen. Chan Gailey should have looked it up on Wikipedia and took note of the last sentence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dive_(American_football) This play is used with Fullbacks or larger, stronger, less prone to fumbling running backs because this play values strength over speed.
Shamrock Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Run left, the line down blocks- leaves the edge backer unblocked- epic fail with the backer walking in for the tackle. Why run this play twice. The d-line- pretty much in a base all day, Mario in a 5, Anderson a 7 & KW & Dareus in varying tackle spots. 1 play in the 3rd made me go huh. KW from a 3 technique stunts with Anderson in a 7. It's just soooo far & takes so much time that both KW & Anderson couldn't get out if each others way.
