FanofFredJackson Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 So the brilliant coaching minds of the Bills wanted to build a defense of line that would pressure opposing Quarterbacks. Solution - sign Mario Williams to a $100,000,000 dollar contract and obtain pass rushing specialist Mark Anderson from New England for $19,500,000 dollars. All that money spent and the pass rush hasn't done anything. Therefore I have to assume these players aren't worth the money the Bills are paying them, or the coaching philosophy is such that it isn't providing them with the opportunity to rush the passer. Yet Williams was very effective in Houston. So what has changed?
Dr. Fong Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I think the Bills defensive problems boil down to their LBs are trash and their secondary is not as lock down as we were all hoping for.
KD in CA Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I'm glad you brought this up. It's kinda surprising no one else has mentioned the lack of production from the DEs.
KollegeStudnet Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 the only thing I can say is they haven't spent $119,500,000.00 yet... they will after Mario and Mark's deal are completed, which are 5 years down the road
Roc Bronson Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 And you always hear Ralph is cheap . These guys will get it together this year or the next. We wanted a vast improvement up front right away, and we fooled ourselves with this imagination. Even my favorite Kyle Williams has dissappoint in big games. If i'm not mistaken, didnt Mario have a slow start in Houston? We will get better, but god knows we need two more corners, and a stub LB either inside or out. We're almost there..
Johnny Hammersticks Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I see two glaring problems with this defense, and neither have to do with our front 4 or our linebackers. 1. The defensive schemes versus the Jets and Patriots were attrocious....I put that on Wannstadt for his failure to adjust schemes and personnel groupings. 2. George Wilson has been absolutely horrible this season.
The Big Cat Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 We need a good defensive coordinator. Period. Right, because the guy on the sideline/in the booth will make all the difference when Mario is neutralized 1 v 1.
It's in My Blood Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I'm glad you brought this up. It's kinda surprising no one else has mentioned the lack of production from the DEs. I think we've all thought it, but just don't want to say it yet.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I think we've all thought it, but just don't want to say it yet. I think he was being sarcastic because there have been SEVERAL threads about this exact topic. Honeslty, I can't believe the mod's haven't shut down this thread yet.
