Looks like JP or Drew once again, does it not???
Ozymandius Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 i'm watching vinny testaverde play and he's absolutely better than drew. not that i think we should sign up. brees would be nice
grabowr30045 Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Let's bring back Collins. He has done a pretty good job for the Chiefs since leaving Buffalo. We would have to morthgage the farm to get Brees. By the way, Pittsburgh proved today that they are a great team all around not because of Roesthlisburger (who is overrated).
KD in CA Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Too bad we can't afford Hasselback. I"m sure the Seawaks are going to keep him though.
grabowr30045 Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Hasselback is overrated. I don't see much difference between him and Bledsoe (I watched eberyone of the Hawks games this year since he was on my ff team).
stuckincincy Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 UFA Mike McMahon of the Lions could be worth a look.
Grant Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 I wouldn't mind Charlie Batch either. He never got a fair shake in the NFL - played on the worst team with the worst receivers with the worst offensive line for two or three years. By the time they started improving those areas, they brought in Harrington. So, some viable short term alternatives could be.. Mike McMahon Charlie Batch Kelly Holcomb
grabowr30045 Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 mcmahon had his chance... Batch is too old and Holcomb doesn't fit the mold of the offense. Collins or Brees.
Josh Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Wait. . .isn't there some Losman guy on the roster. . .?
grabowr30045 Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 I think Losman is going to be a bust. Don't see the talent in him....he was a very high pick.
CosmicBills Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Wait. . .isn't there some Losman guy on the roster. . .? 189848 Amen. There will not be a veteran QB brought into camp this year. It will be Drew as No.1 and JP as No.2...at least for openning day.
Dr. K Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 UFA Mike McMahon of the Lions could be worth a look. 189822 I agree--I actually think McMahon might have an upside. But I'd rather see the Bills work hard on getting Losman up to speed in the off season and training camp. After all, that's why they drafted him. Wyche is a good teacher, and Clements and Mularkey even made Maddox into a pro bowler a couple of years back, and had Kordell Stewart playing the best QB of his career. Please, no Todd Collins! If he were any good the Chiefs would have played him some time in the last eight years. He's a permanent benchwarmer.
ExiledInIllinois Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 I think Losman is going to be a bust. Don't see the talent in him....he was a very high pick. 189853 I do too... I hope I am wrong?
CosmicBills Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 I do too... I hope I am wrong? 189901 Isn't it a tad early to call the kid a bust? After all, it was pretty well established that of all the first round QBs, JP would need the most "grooming time". I don't think five series really constitutes enough time especially considering he missed half the year with a broken leg. Give the kid through 2006 before we label him as a bust OR the second coming. For now he is just an unknown.
ThreeStepDrop Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 The only problem with Brees is that he cant throw. Stars have aligned for him this year. I dont expect a repeat
Pete Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Hasslebeck is a great QB! His wide receivers cannot catch the damn ball. Seattle has Shawn Alexander and Walter Jones as FAs too at least one of them will walk. Charlie Batch is a solid QB(for real) and could be had cheap. I would consider Batch an improvement. I would like us to resign Mathews, sign Batch, drop Drew and give JP a shot in minicamp to be our starter. Open competition at the QB position for once.
Marv's Neighbor Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Hasselbeck is better than Travis. We should have kept him!
drnykterstein Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Why? Do we need a QB or something? Wow, 2 starting QB's on the team and we're still shopping.
Pete Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Why? Do we need a QB or something? Wow, 2 starting QB's on the team and we're still shopping. 189912 We need a veteran to replace Drew. Well that is if we want to win a playoff game. The veteran would back up JP. JP should go into camp the #1 and there should be open competition. We should cut our losses with Drew and get whatever we can for him. That frees up cap space and we can address other needs.
