Just Jack Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Inconceivable You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
DC Tom Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Great book, too...the movie mirrors it almost perfectly. With the possible exception of The Godfather, I can't think of a better and more faithful adaptation.

Does the book have Columbo reading the story to Fred Savage too or was that just added in for some transitions in the movie?
dib Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
DC Tom Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Does the book have Columbo reading the story to Fred Savage too or was that just added in for some transitions in the movie? It's been a while since I read it (like 25 years)...but I think it did. I don't recall anything being added, only subtracted (like Fezzik's back-story), and not much at that.
plenzmd1 Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. your friend here is not dead..only mostly dead!
BillsFanM.D. Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 No more rhymes and I mean it....... Anybody want a peanut?
erynthered Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 DC Tom: I can't compete with you physically, and you're no match for my brains. conner: You're that smart? DC Tom: Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates? conner: Yes. DC Tom: Morons.
shrader Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 It's been a while since I read it (like 25 years)...but I think it did. I don't recall anything being added, only subtracted (like Fezzik's back-story), and not much at that. So it's a book about someone reading a book to someone. Interesting. It seems like a strange premise to start with. More Fezzik backstory does sound good to me though.
Wooderson Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Great movie, 7th grade English teacher basically did a whole unit on it. Still one of my favorite movies.
GoodBye Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 "I'm not a witch, I'm your wife!" "Bye, bye boys. Have fun storming the castle!" Love this movie! I at least watch it once a year.
dib Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I do not envy you the headache you will have when you awake. But for now, rest well and dream of large women.
Marv's Neighbor Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Don't rush me, sonny. You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles. Buddy Nix.
