BringBackFergy Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I don't have Twitter but these are all on the Twitter page for Buffalo Bills. If anyone has better definitions, have at it: Buffalo Bills @buffalobills Gailey: "I don't think we've had a guy here in 3 years who could cover (Welker) 1-on-1. He gets open" Expand Reply Retweet Favorite Translation: "We have never hit him hard enough to make him think before crossing the middle. We also allowed him a 7 yard cushion all day yesterday. If you noticed, Brady threw a 5 yd out to him on the left side on the first play of I think 4 consecutive offensive series and he ran it another 8 yards for a first down each time. We'll get this figured out by next year when we have a nifty new CB from the draft....next question" Gailey: "There's a difference in confidence and belief ,,, we're getting closer in talent but we need to be mentally tougher" Expand Reply Retweet Favorite Translation: "When you take your high priced linemen to a swanky restaurant and treat them like God's gift to football, you expect a little return on your investment. So next year, we will be taking our new FA's and draft picks to Ted's. As for mental toughness...that's on me. I didn't prepare them for this game properly and Dave W. was too busy reprogramming my VCR so I could tape the game...I still don't know how to use those suckers...next question". Buffalo Bills @buffalobills Gailey: looked at changing defenses during the game but "the mismatches in the pass game would have been tremendous ... pick your poison" Expand Reply Retweet Favorite Translation: "No sense in trying to actually move Mario to the right side or even inside to mix things up a bit. Blitzes?? What the hell do little crepes with sour cream have to do with Football?? I said before we have to improve our mental toughness...one step at a time boys. We figured we'd stay with our base nickel package until they beat us....and since we have a never say die attitude, we figured out they beat us with 1:42 left on the clock"
macaroni Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I can translate them all to; It's hard to win in the NFL
BringBackFergy Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 That about sums it up...unfortunately
Beerball Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Gailey talking about his DC: That was fine. I’m fine with it. I’ve got complete confidence in Dave and what they’re trying to do and where we’ve got our people situated. That’s the majority of it, is where do you have your people situated? We’ve got our people in the right spots. We’re sound. Stupid me, I thought it was about blocking and tackling. Now I know it's about getting people situated. We got our asses situated yesterday.

We got our asses situated yesterday. That quote (along with a couple more I heard today) is REALLY testing my faith in Mr Gailey...
Dr. Trooth Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 On a good note though.... the Bills don't need a punt catcher.
Beerball Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 On a good note though.... the Bills don't need a punt catcher. True! We can't force a team to punt. Cut McKelvin now!
BringBackFergy Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 "We have to play the game more on their side of the line of scrimmage. We have to create more penetration, get the linebackers more downhill and things like that. That is the one thing you can do to create a difference. If (when) we play them again, that would be our thought process. How can we play more on their side of the line of scrimmage" This sounds like Chan really wants to Blitz more to keep the Pats off balance...unfortunately, it's a little late to be espousing an aggressive blitz package at this time Chaninator. Doesn't it seem like he is a little late to the defensive scheming...I remember the post game statements after the Jets debacle and he said "we really need to be more aggressive with the CB's and jam the WR's to stop the quick throws...sure enough, against KC we started to jam the WR's. Why the hell don't they just make these adjustments on the fly??...He's preaching to the choir but the service has ended.
