I could give Mario a pass if he was being double teamed on every play but over the course of three weeks he's been handled by a rookie and two undrafted free agents. There's simply no excuse for not showing up.

I've been thinking that for a couple weeks now, but that's a pretty rough indictment, so didn't want to verbalize it... it awaits to be proven, and sometimes sacks come in bunches, so I wouldn't lose faith yet... but hold that thought.

Sadly, he's one of our top two DEs, so there's not much that can be done. Maybe we can trade him for a draft pick.

As lackluster as it's been it's far from the biggest of our problems. FAR. If we had some stuff going well...it would be a non-issue and we would hope he would play better in big games later on

We need a real pass rushing DE, we need real LBs (outside of Barnett), we need a better SS, most importantly, we need a proper coaching staff.

 

And that's just on defense. The offense is pretty much the same sort of deal.
