GOBILLS78 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 20012? In my mind, he'll live forever. In others', he's done in 18,000 years. " I leave Buffalo as the all time leader in Punts. I just want to thank my teammates, especially Trent Edwards and JP Losman for allowing me to accomplish such a feat". - Brian Moorman
Realist Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 What do you suppose this follow up tweet from Freddy means? Fred Jackson @Fred22Jackson #Moorman My Bad
Jdragon2 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Thurman Thomas' tweet leads me to believe it's NOT performance related. Some altercation had to of happened.
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 What do you suppose this follow up tweet from Freddy means? Fred Jackson @Fred22Jackson #Moorman My Bad It means he realized he spelled Moorman with an 'e'

Bud Adams Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 It means he realized he spelled Moorman with an 'e' LOL first thing I noticed.
xsoldier54 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I dont believe this is true at all. if it is that is purely a shame. Moorman is a huge asset. Anyone who bashes him is ignorant. The guy has been a top 3 punter in the NFL for years now, a great holder for Lindell, and a great asset for gadget plays. This would make sense on no level at all. With the loyalty of the Bills with guys like Maybin, Easley, Mccargo, Troup, etc etc etc I can not even fathom that this can really happen. If so I think its disgusting. Sorry, but I am far from ignorant and I completely agree with this move. Moorman is a good guy, but he can not execute basic punts like pinning the ball inside the 20 and coffin corner type kicks. As for your assertion that he has been a top 3 punter in the NFL for years, it simply is not true. Not once in his career has Moorman finished in the top 3 punters in the league. In the past 5 years, he has finished number 12, 10, 4, 11 and 8. His botched punt on Sunday almost let Cleveland back in the game. When he kicks long, they are generally line drives and very returnable. Powell is a very good punter and I believe at this point he will be an improvement over Moorman. We can agree to disagree on this one and I won't even call you names.
beerme1 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Thanks for being a class act as a Bills player Brian. I dont think the timing is as odd as most of you. Chan hasn't been happy over the last two seasons which without a doubt Moorman has been a shell of his former ability. Chan brings in competition in camp and Moorman excels. Chan being a quality guy says nice to see you got it back and then in the regular season Moorman dissapoints. Chan is not willing to allow that over the full season again. He gave the vet every opportunity and it just hasn't gone his way. Luckily this kid is still available and I would have kept him coming out of camp and he probably would have too but Moorman responded so there was no need. Now here we are. Brian Moorman you will be missed. Best player on this team of losers for a long time. That is no longer true and it can never be true again that your best is the punter! Thanks for the memories. Wish you luck and success somewhere. And thank you for your community involvement. You were top notch sir.
Webster Guy Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Always a good guy with autographs and interacting with fans at training camp, and for years it was always he and Lechler from the Raiders considered to be the best punters in the AFC. DeHaven was probably fed up with the inconsistency. Can Potter punt as well as Moorman?

Bud Adams Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 There has to be more to this. I don't hate the move, but these tweets might suggest there could have been some sort of irreconcilable confrontation.
sugar ray Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Gotta wonder,they wrk.out 2receivers yesterday,n today this happens,a receiver cud b signed by fri.we shall see.

Big Turk Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 This all happened cause our punt coverage sucks and our best bet is to kick out of bounds...sucks he gets cut because other guys suck at their jobs but can't replace a whole punt coverage team...
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 This may only be me, but I have very little confidence in DeHaven. Even putting aside the Music City Miracle, he doesn't seem to be in the same league as Bobby April. I only say this because I wonder if DeHaven had a say in Moorman getting cut, or if Moorman's failure to execute DeHaven's calls (e.g., directional kicks) influenced the decision.
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 How's this for a mind-blower: what if Moorman wore out his leg in preseason fending off the competition that Chan brought in? Happens all the time in the wild - the alpha male eventually wears down from age and all the challenges to his position.
thebandit27 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I'm wondering if we'll find out that there was some kind of injury settlement with Moorman...just seems like there's more to it from Thurman's comments...
5 Wide Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 During pregame and after half time I always loved to watch Moorman come out and boom some warmups. He used to unleash bombs that made the other teams punter look like an amateur. The last few years, I haven't really seen much of a difference between his kicks and the opposing punter. Didn't look like the pop was still there.
