sven233 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora Bills are releasing veteran stalwart P Brian Moorman. Surprise move. Have a feeling he might not be a free agent all that long. Wow. Yeah, he hasn't had a great start to the season, but this is still very surprising. Edited September 25, 2012 by sven233
HurlyBurly51 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Whoa. I know he has had a rough start, but whoa!
Fan in Chicago Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora Bills are releasing veteran stalwart P Brian Moorman. Surprise move. Have a feeling he might not be a free agent all that long. Wow. Wow. Just one word. He has slipped a bit but to outright release him is weird. Perhaps making a roster spot available but even if so, I wouldn't have guessed it would be MVP himself
Matt in KC Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Too surprising to trust Twitter. But with Powell in camp this wouldn't be a complete blind-side.
DC Tom Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Unless they plan on not punting anymore, this makes little sense...
DanInUticaTampa Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I can't imagine dario and stallworth are worth cutting moorman over. I hope it is to make room for someone better than those two
Astrojanitor Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 woah, Chan is not screwing around. wonder if he has something up his sleeve for the NE game. Some kind of big trade or free agent signing? This may be an interesting week after all.
UConn James Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Gotta give Chan props on this. Stuck with Moorman for as long as he could on the fumes of past performance and nice-guy status (and don't get me wrong, Moorman IS a great citizen!!!) but in pure football analysis, too long in retrospect. Moorman hasn't been hitting his spots for a couple of years and his inside-the-20 stats absolutely cratered. I'm assuming they're going to bring in Powell.

GG Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Salary dump? Nope, he's guaranteed his salary for remainder of 2012
Peter Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 The Bills plan on scoring on every possesssion.
Big Turk Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Wtf? I agree it wasn't a great start, but hasn't been horrible either...shocking is the word I would use...better hope whoever they bring in knows how to hit the ball right when the winds start howling in November and December....
KD in CA Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I thought they should have gone with Powell from the get-go; at some point you need to take advantage of having a talented guy available and make the transition from old to young. However, I think doing it after week 3 is not a good move from a locker room perspective. Guys expect this to happen in August, not in September.
Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Moorman hasn't been very good since about 2006/2007. Anyone who is upset about this probably thought that Ruben Brown deserved to go to Honolulu 9 times.
