CSBill Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 With the rash of RB injuries, and McKelvin's success as a return man (he is fast, and seems to know what to do with the ball in his hands) and his demotion on defense, is it time to get creative and give him a few looks on offense? Interestingly, this week's opponent, Belichick is the master mad scientist when it comes to this sort of thing--it seems he is always moving people around to unfamiliar positions, and getting good production from them. Is it time to give him a little bit of his own witches brew? I know McKelvin has hands of stone sometime of defense; but, like last week, he occasionally comes up with an interception and he has developed into a pretty reliable punt and kickoff catcher. Could he be utilized in a slot position, to then be an end-around threat? short pass and go type of receiver? some running plays that get him to the edge? etc. Your thoughts?
D521646 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 No, but I do like the idea of having our front four line up differently from time to time. This will cause matchup problems and protection issues for the Patriots. Tim-
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 McKelvin has been doing great on ST and in limited defensive snaps. Let's leave it at that. He's one of those guys who the more stuff you give to him, the worse he gets.
Donald Duck Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Big fan of McKelvin (wouldn't mess with that) Myself personally, I'm more for the idea of bringing up Marcus Easley off the practice squad.
BillsBytheBay Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 If McKelvin keeps up they way he is... Keep it up. He seems to make plays as a role player. You've got to love his intensity. Great return guy, and can run with ANYONE in coverage. He just can't play the damn ball in the air. I think spelling corners, and return duties is a nich we need, and he fills nicely.
dpberr Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I agree with JR 100%. Less is more with Leodis.
