Fezmid Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 The Bills' front office should take note. I'm not saying a team should allow its fans to make personnel moves, but they have to realize our patience is wearing thin. We are smart fans who know when something is very wrong. 191017 Riiight, becaue a team should make decisions based on an unscientific poll of well under 200 people. Did you hear the part about selling 30,000 "Billeive" t-shirts at $20 a pop? CW
Gavin in Va Beach Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Not only no, but !@#$ no! Make a list of ten (hell make it twenty) current QB's in the NFL that you would want to captain your team in the playoffs. If Drew is on that list I seriously want what you're smokin'.
Yoho Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 What is so absurd about this is that I don't know what the options are. I would like to see Losman play a little more before I hand him the job. He could Ben Rothlisbfffrrarrar or he could be Ryan Leaf. We dont know yet. I have no clue who our veteran options would be, so if you are asking me if I want Drew, Rob Johnson or Todd Collins, I will take Drew. If my options are Michael Vick or Bett Favre, bench Drew, but saying that "anybody" is better than Drew is absurd. Vince Ferragamo anyone?

JohninMinn. Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 The poster under the name of "Dead Horse Beaters Club" should be making an appearance any moment now. He'll be here to tell you that a true pocket passer like DB is always the better option!!! 189358 From the Buffalo News: "I don't think that Drew has a heckuva lot of time to throw the ball. The guys are right on top of him. By the time he gets back, boom. We've got to straighten the offense out all the way around. There's not much blocking. The whole scheme of it has to be straightened out. I just think we've got better players than we've shown." This was Ralph Wilson's response. Ron Jaworski, the former Philadelphia Eagles great quarterback and ESPN analyst, agreed with Wilson after the game. "There is no doubt in my mind he can still win," Jaworski said. "Drew is one of those guys who needs protection. He's what I call a plant, step and throw quarterback. He needs to be comfortable in the pocket where he can do that. If you start showing color in his face and he starts throwing off his back foot because of pressure up the middle, he becomes a little bit erratic. When you build around him, you have to start with the interior of the offensive line. I think Drew is still a very, very good quarterback in this league."

You have to play the rookie and see how he does. A good pre-season should be a pre-requisite to getting the starting nod.

Marv Levy said it best - "if a coach listens to the fans, soon he will be one".

Drew get's plenty of protection. We could protect him for 10 seconds and it still wouldn't give him what he has none of- pocket presence. This is antiquated thinking anyway. The days of teams having 1 decent pass rusher and that's it are long gone, so believing all you need to do is give a QB more protection is also long gone. Now teams will throw everything they got at a QB they know will wilt under the pressure, max protect is a pipe dream! Today's QB needs pocket presence and some escapability...which is why we drafted Losman in the first friggin' place! Hey Ralphie! This isn't 1980 anymore. Buy Drew flowers, tell him "it's not you, it's me"...but break up with the Statue already!
