Peter Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 RIP. He was a great guy and will be missed a lot.
Captain Hindsight Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Made the game we all love much more interesting. May he RIP
The Senator Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Sabol had a unique talent, and took the game to a new level in television entertainment He will be missed, but forever immortalized by his immense body of work. RIP, Steve. Link - Steve Sabol
BuffBill Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Without those videos the NFL would never have been as popular. Who would have thought his father Ed would have out lived him, especially after watching the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies last summer. I didn't realize he was fighting brain cancer but that would explain him being bald in Canton. RIP. What a broadcast legend.
DrDawkinstein Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 The NFL owes Steve and his father for being a HUGE reason the league is so popular. RIP Steve.
mattsox Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I always loved the NFL Films that he hosted. Def will be missed.
RevWarRifleman Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Rest in peace, Steve. What a great body of work he & his father did for pro football. He kind of "grew up" in his career so to speak, during the early years of the AFL. Right along with the rest of us Boomers. He'll be sadly missed.
eball Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Bummer. Ed and Steve did incredible things to enhance the way we view the NFL.
KD in CA Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 The NFL owes Steve and his father for being a HUGE reason the league is so popular. As does every fan. RIP
nucci Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Love watching the old films on NFL Network. They should show them more often.
Buftex Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Sabol and his father made a huge imprint on the NFL without ever putting on a helmet. He will be missed, but his influence will be felt, I suspect, by everyone who enjoys the NFL. RIP Steve Sabol.
BuffaloBud Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Godspeed Steve. A true pioneer of his craft.
DDD Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 It won't be the same watching NFL Films without him as the host. He was great at what he did.
Charles Romes Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Sympathies for Ed who just turned 96. The worst thing imaginable to lose a child no matter what age. Its pretty much impossible to keep clicking when the channel scan lands on one of their films.
