Pats, Dolphins could see plenty of flags

Pats have been the posterchild for this rule change (in fact, Im tired of hearing it). But interesting to see which teams were the worst offenders on a slow news night.

It was very suprising that the Pats had only 5 illegal contacts calls against them all season given their style. Clearly the season was fixed.

No commentary on teams affected, but can we please stop calling this a "rules change". This rule has been on the books since the '70's. At the NFL meetings, it was decided that the officials had become lax in enforcing the contact rule and a new emphasis was to be placed on it. Particularly in the preseason, but it remains to be seen if that emphasis carries over into the regular season and playoffs-where it really became an issue. There are doubts that this will happen. For reference, see NHL. B)

No kidding. The NHL has a totally dofferent rule book after about 6 weeks into the season. Not to mention the third set of rules for the playoffs.
