Over 29 years of fanhood Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Well is good they can talk the talk. Let's see the walk. I have been wondering if covering the Bills slower and less talented WR's in practice had them miscalibrated. Or just maybe you could make an areguement the whole team didn't click at full speed at least for the first half.
st pete gogolak Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 The team's execution? As famously said by John McKay, "I'm in favor of it!"
The Big Cat Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 I can't recall the last time Bills nation was clamoring for (adjustment x) then had the players and coaches directly address (adjustment x) to the media. Am I the only one who's really happy about this?
Mr. WEO Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Seems like the latter was at fault on Sunday: http://blogs.buffalo...aggressive.html You think the coaches were clamoring for the DBs to get more aggressive against the Jets and the players just ignored them?
CardinalScotts Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 the thing to remember is......in the frame of what your asking your players to do is it a case of can't or won't.
FanofFredJackson Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Seems like the latter was at fault on Sunday: http://blogs.buffalo...aggressive.html So the Bills plan on being more aggressive which to me means more costly penalties. Lets see if I'm right.
thewildrabbit Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 So, the coaches blame the teams lack of coverage skills and being unprepared on not being aggressive enough. What a crock! NVM the fact that Nix / Gailey have spent the majority of the last 3 drafts on the defense 2010, #2 DT Troup, #3 DE Carrington,2011, #1 (#3 overall) DT Marcell Darius, #2 DB Aaron Williams, #3 LB Kelvin Sheppard, #4 DB Da,Norris Searcy. 2012 #1 (#10 overall) DB Stephen Gilmore. Not to mention 100 million for DE Mario Williams and more money for DE Mark Anderson. I think its a pure and simple case of the coaches sucking more then the players. They were unprepared and looked lost compared to the Jets players.
BillnutinHouston Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 My question is, why could this not be corrected during the game? If you instruct a player in a certain way and he studiously ignores you or fails to carry out your instruction, put in the backup for a series and send a message that they better "buy in" and do it NOW.
BuffBill Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I think on the defensive side of the ball it was some of both, coaching and execution. On the offensive side of the ball however, and the mistakes that Fitz made, they were all execution, he has been around too long now to blame that disaster on coaching.

Just in Atlanta Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 "So we're not supposed to play loose and passive? Now they tell us." -Gilmore, McKelvin, Williams, Byrd and Wilson.
zow2 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Seems like the Bills really blew it in this game. After week #1 Aaron Rodgers comes out and says the DB's are allowed to interfere all day. The Jets DB's were all over us with no reprucussions. I watched a bunch of other games...hands on the WR's back while defending a pass? no biggie, no flags. CHi and GB played last night very tight man on man...no calls. The Bills should have played aggressive from game #1. Seems like the replacement refs aren't calling things as tight, maybe to not influence the outcomes of games in a dramatic fashion. So this is the chance to play tight and let them call it both ways if they have to. Really disappointed the Bills decided to lay back and play scared vs. the Jets.
