nucci Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I was there. My brother lived in San Jose at the time. What a fun game to attend.
hondo in seattle Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I saw it on TV but lived in SF later. Even the fans there told me they loved that game - though not the final score of course. Those were two high-powered offenses.
quinnearlysghost88 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I'm most shocked by how late the flags are called. It's like 20 seconds after the play is over and they cut to a ref calling a huge penalty. The announcers never say flag on the field, and this was obviously before the "flag" graphic was instituted. You never realize how much better the game is to watch today.
The Senator Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I was there. My brother lived in San Jose at the time. What a fun game to attend. Likewise - I was living on 'The Crookedest Street in the World' and my good friend 'The Dean' lived on Twin Peaks (under the giant roach clip). The Dean was a big muckety muck at one of the local TV stations, with a bar in his office, lots of attractive young quim working on his staff...er, um...under his management, and a private box at Candlestick that he commandeered for that game. I think it was mid-way thru the 3rd quarter when one of us realized out loud that neither team had punted yet. We may have enjoyed an adult beverage or two
