Bufcomments Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Ok Ok lets forget about that mess in New Jersey. Its week 2 lets get it on. QB Fitz vs. Cassel Edge Cassel just because I don't know what the heck we will get from Fitz. RBs CJ vs Jamal Charles This is a good one. Both are speed backs. Both can take it to the house on any play. Peyton Hillis plays FB not a bad combo. CJ looks like he has figured it out and is the better receiver. Edge. Even. WR's Dwayne Bowe and Stevie about the same level of WR. Steve Breaston and Dexter McCluster are the type of WR that give the Bills trouble. Kevin Boss + Tony Moeaki are good TE's. Who will step up in David Nelson's shoes? I was shocked that TJ Graham was inactive for the Jet game. He has to play now it would seem. D. Jones and Chandler will have to play well. Will Brad Smith even play?? Edge Chiefs BillsOL vs Chiefs DL I think the Bills have a chance to move the ball on the ground this week. The Chiefs are not the Jets and C.J. hit them for 169. I expect C.J. to get 125 at least. Tamba Hali can cause trouble for Glenn but he will get help. Last year Fitz had time to throw and I think he will again this yr. Edge Bills Chiefs OL vs Bills DL again the Chiefs line is not as good as the Jets. The Jets were able to handle the Bills front 4 but I don't think the Chiefs can do what the Jets did just from a talent standpoint. Kyle Williams might have fun this week. Interesting matchup on the right side, Super Mario will go against RT Eric Winston who knows Williams well ( played for the Texans last yr). You heard it here first, don't be surprised if Mario has a sub-par game again because Winston is an above average RT. Edge Bills LB's Derrick Johnson can be a beast. So can Hali. Edge Chiefs Safety and CB's Flowers and Routt are better than Gilmore and Williams at this point. Gilmore needs to play more aggressive like in College. I think later when the game slows down for him he will be what we need him to be. I like Eric Berry also. Edge Chiefs This is gonna be a good game. CJ and Charles will get some yards. CJ has to break off some more big runs and you know what I think he can. KC has some playmakers and Cassel can get hott at times. I think the Bills will play much better this week after getting pushed around by the Jets. I think the 12th man will be drunk...err into it if the Bills do ANYTHING positive early. I will give the Bills an slight edge just because its at home. Bills 27- Chiefs 24 Oh my Sweet Jesus if the Bills lose this one folks.
DukeyBomb Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I'd like to see Gailey incorporate Dorin Dickerson in to the offense. I would hope the Bills could run the ball more out of the backfield with him back there. And I think it would add a better "what are we going to do, pass or run the ball." element rather than the single back spread guessing game. Teams are getting a finger on what Gailey does with that.

Yep him and TJ Graham. You make a good point. Even if you just let TJ run fly pattens at least somebody has to check him. Edited September 12, 2012 by Bufcomments
Búfalo Blanco Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 The Bills need to respond here.. and I believe they'll be motivated after getting hammered all week by fans and the press. They need this one and they know it. Next week is in Cleveland... Granted they won't have Haden which helps, but that defense looks like it will cause some havoc. Cleveland will not be a gimme. Either way, the KC and Cleveland games are pivotal, because then the Bills get New England... And if that's not enough, two straight road games on the west coast, the 49ers and Cardinals. These next two games have to be wins or else...
BiggieScooby Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 It's hard to win in the NFL. Don't tell me about the labor pains show me the baby. We will win.

I dont like the notion we might be 0-2 in the AFC east so early. We shall see.
DDD Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Hope the Chiefs D doesn't take out Stevie's knee.
DukeyBomb Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Hope the Chiefs D doesn't take out Stevie's knee. I'll be watching Berry intently.
Bufcomments Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 please no more injuries. I swear this Bills team has no luck.
CodeMonkey Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Hope the Chiefs D doesn't take out Stevie's knee. Call me naive but I don't think they will be trying to injure him. You can bet they sure will be looking to pop him good at every opportunity though. Hope his groin doesn't get re-injured in the process.
The Big Cat Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Well, considering Fitz doesn't have to go up against Cassle, I'm going to ignore your analysis, because (while appreciated) it's basically meaningless. I watched the Falcons vs Chiefs game last night, and here's what scares the **** out of me: KC absolutely picked ATL apart...when ATL only rushed four... Wanny's gotta come around. If he think he's going to run an effective defense without employing some exotic blitz packages, and if he stays on as our DC, it's going to be a loooooooooong season, folks.
Billsrhody Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I dont think Brandon Flowers is set to play in this game.

ATL has a weak D to say the least. But I guess ours looked even worse than theirs last week. I agree with the exotic packages -- Bowe is the only receiver that we should really watch out for. Scott should be able to handle Moeaki, and McKelvin's speed (with safety help on deep passes) could contain Baldwin. I think our offense wakes up, and our defense improves this week. 28-20 Bills win I dont think Brandon Flowers is set to play in this game. Good, Stevie is gonna need to have a big game

Yeah I was thinking about that. I worry that Stache sincerely thought that with the quality and depth that he has at DL now, that rushing 4 was always going to be sufficient and would always be able to put enough pressure on the QB to cover for the LBs and DBs. Last Sunday at least, that was shown to be a grave error. If his plan was always to rush 4 and little to no blitzing, how long would it take to insert, as you say, exotic blitz packages into the defensive game plan? I guess we will see against KC.
Just in Atlanta Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) SJ took out a KC defender for an entire year last season. He better watch himself out there. Please, please no more injuries. Edited September 12, 2012 by Just in Atlanta

They were clearly worried about Charles, but once they got a cushion and knew KC was going to pass, it was all over. I have enough confidence in our run defense that we should be bringing 5-6 ALL GAME. Yeah I was thinking about that. It's an ever-evolving league. Want to beat the Patriots*? Learn to pressure with your front four. Giving up pressure from their front four? Start stacking the line with 2-3 TE sets. That's what we saw from NYJ, that's what teams are starting to do now. Pass-first league, yes. But line up like you're going to run it. It's becoming customary to see 6 guys in on pass protection, we need to counter that with more blitzers, period.

Just think this caught Stache by surprise and assuming he realizes this now not sure how long before he can get exotic blitz packages into the D playbook if they aren't there already. Just think this caught Stache by surprise and assuming he realizes this now not sure how long before he can get exotic blitz packages into the D playbook if they aren't there already. Wanny thought he could get to Sanchez by just rushing 4 but it was 4 vs. 5 OL the whole game it seemed. For watching just the first half they never blitzed. I think we will see more of the Blitz in this game. Cant let Qb's have all day to pass they will find somebody open.
Wagon Circler Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I think our secondary actually covering a receiver is more important than exotic blitz packages which NEVER seem to work for the Bills.
