Great Teams Are Born Of Adversity

...that's all we can do.  Keep faith.  But brother the Bills sure TEST that faith.  Year in and year out.

My sentiments exactly. I had the sick feeling that they were going to manage to lose this game all week, and that the Jets or Denver would lose and leave us gasping and bitter.

Surprise.

We started 0-4, and ended up 9-7. I thought we'd go 9-7 this year anyway, but not like this.

Yes, I think we lost a game today that we should have won.

Yes, I place a fair amount of blame on Drew, but the penalties, the O-line and the coaching was at fault as well.

This team must build on this year. Remember the 2nd to last game of 1987...we hosted the Pats with a playoff spot on the line, and lost 13-7. The next year, we went 12-4 and played in the AFC championship game.

We MUST grow from this...we MUST.

And JP...please do a lot of off-season working out. This could easily be your team come September 2005.

I had the same feeling too Dr. K. I just talked to my brother and confirmed what I felt and told him earlier in the week.

Did I dare mention it this week... HELL NO... That CowBell in my avatar would have spanked me upside the head.

Again... It is a good thing... Keep the faith.

And yes... I will deflect all blame... That is some "tainted" CowBell I was sporting!

Duey! You speak so eloquently what I have been trying to convey... I am not sold on JP now... He needs to grow... THIS TEAM needs to grow. In this day and age, it is easy to scrap it all for a few beanstalk beans. Those things only work in fairy tales and 2001 Patriots.

Hardworking people are baptized through adversity.

I would like to see it all come together FAST... But, it is so much sweeter when you build on you failures!

Circle the wagons folks and get behind who ever the choose... ITS A GAME!

Good teams respond to adversity. We played like scared wussies out there and showed we don't have any heart when the chips are really down and the stakes are enormous.

So down by 12 with 2.5 minutes left and bringing it to 5 doesn't show you anything?

The scoring is coming.

I am glad Duey brought up the '87 season and the Pats game... That is what I thought about all week and NOW.

Now that we know Bledsoe doesn't measure up under adversity, can we dump him now?

Riiiiigggghhhhtt; the Bills have been in single-elimination mode for two months, played multiple west-coast games, but the team hasn't faced adversity. 0:)

Adversity is pressure as related to expectations. Obviously during that streak no one was really expecting the Bills to have a shot at the playoffs. Remember ALL the things we needed to happen. Well one by one they happened and AFTER last week (3 of 4 things went our way) suddenly the PRESSURE was there because the playoffs were a realistic possibility. And Drew came up small man, very samll. He looked like a deer in the headlights again and really this game should have been out of reach in the first half as Drew tried his damndest to give the game away. But the Steelers defenders kept dropping the ball.

What adversity? Bills have alot of veteran players and they got their asses handed to them by Pittsburgh's 4th RB, 2nd QB who hadn't played since Week 1, Pittsburgh's 3rd QB and 3rd-5th WR's. Pittsburgh played their backup O-Line and backup Defense in the 2nd half. Nobody stepped up today. The offense was horrible except for McGahee. The 1st team defense ranked 4th in the NFL couldn't stop Willie Freaking Parker? The Bills do have the makings of a playoff team but not until they make some changes. Namely at QB and K for starters.
