buffalo_bills Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Coming into this game, I truly believed we had a better team than the Jets. And guess what, I still do. We didn't lose because of a lack of talent Bills fans. Despite what happened on the field today, I know we are much much better than this. The Jets came in hungry, trying to prove something to the NFL. We didn't. Not only the players, but the coaches assumed that our great offseason means we just have to show up and play, and we'll get victories. Well guess what, the Jets outworked us and wanted the win more. You could see the Jets were a lot more prepared to play than we were. As for Fitzpatrick, he needs to be better, and I think he will be. Some goes for the defense. Next week, I want to see that fire lit under us. We play a KC team that also got their asses kicked today, so it'll be an interesting game. BTW, I think Spiller will establish himself as one of the games best backs by seasons end, especially if Freddy is hurt for an extended period.
PearlHowardman Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 When the team QB throws interceptions on the first two offensive series of the game the defensive players start to collectively think: Why the F should I even try? Does that make sense?
birdog1960 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 this game reminded me of bills - kc opener last year except this year, the bills =kc and the jets = bills. we all know how the rest of the year went for both. hope i'm wrong but it sure looked similar. does anybody think the jets are really contenders?
Best Player Available Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 2nd tier GM, head coach, and all assistant coaches and coordinators. They are all either has beens (Gailey, Wannabe) or flat out suck. BTW who is the OC and why is he even here? Talent level may have got better, although you couldn't tell on the field today. But Gailey is clueless. The Jets like some other AFCE teams own us.
PearlHowardman Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 The Bills should call Erie County Community College (ECCC) and and hire their football team QB. Fitz' interceptions today were HORRIBLE throws! Simply stupid, incompetent passes. And he probaly could have thrown 1-2 more if the Jets were awake. If I'm someone like Mario Williams, and I see the team QB floundering in preseason practices and game, I'm really not going to waste my time playing hard - when Fitz keeps turning the ball over. Why would I?

WE. SUCK.
cale Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 You know what - offensively speaking - we continued where we left off last year. This is a true indictment of the front office that couldn't see the ineptidude that half the folks on this board could see with their eyes closed. It's not that we lack talent - we have talent on this team that half of the coaching staff in this league could better leverage. We do have deficiencies in some key positions - but this inability to evaluate our roster honestly and coach and recruit appropriately is simply killing us. You coach to our strengths. We have two (maybe 3 - but maybe with Freddie's injury - two again) running backs that are more than adequate. Yet we insist on running empty backfield options - telegraphing pass with a QB who has a gunslinger mentality with a journeyman's arm. Run the damn ball and live & die by the playaction. I just don't get this coaching staff. C
Roc Bronson Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 We are notorious as of late for making the Jets look like a superbowl team. The Jets are not that good we are just that bad.. Such a shame!

Why would I? The jets went into a much softer coverage in the 2nd half. You're right though fitz should have had 5 picks not 3. Believe it or not I think Rex actually showed us some mercy today. The hoody won't be so kind.
PearlHowardman Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) maybe because you have pride in yourself and feel obligated to earn your paycheck? Nope! No way - this defense knows Fitz' limitations. So they mail it in! I don't blame them one bit if they do. Edited September 9, 2012 by PearlHowardman

SUCK. you may be right about the jets. too early to know. have they been better than us for the last decade? well, yeah. but that's hardly confirmation of a contender. i don't see them going further that the first round of the playoffs at best. and yes, i'd be euphoric if i truly thought the bills could do that this year.
Nuncha Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) 1) Ribsrbroke Fitzpicksix 2) Defense gave up 10/14 third downs 3) ZERO sacks 4) Mario Williams 1 tackle, Mike Anderson Zero tackles, Kyle Williams 2 tackles, Darreus 1 tackle 5) gave up punt return for TD 6) Turned it over 4 times 7) Chan passed way too much early on - stuck with the pass even though Fitzpicksix was aweful. Bob in STL Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Bad pre-season for this team and the coaching staff. It carried right into today. This team was simply not ready. Ryan outcoaches Gailey every time. This was embarassing.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 We sux. No heart, too soft. got it. Same old same old. Wait till next week. Yeah my sons and friends are going to the home opener. Can`t wait.
JoeF Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 We did suck today there is no question. We sucked throughout the preseason. We sucked at the end of last year. Since a 5-2 start last year we are 1-13 including preseason. This is all true. For some reason I cannot even figure out for myself I still think this team has a shot to be a winning team. Someone needs to shake this team up -- the team I saw today lacked passion and fire for the game and we aren't good enough, no one is good enough, to win without knowing and executing assignments. CJ Spiller played his ass off today--when's the rest of this team going to join him?

benderbender Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I want to hear from the "it's only preseason" crowd who expected a magical change at 1:00pm est into a contender. *crickets*
JoeF Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Soft coaching turns out SOFT players. There is no excuse for not knowing assignments....that is coaching and study... There is an opportunity to end the first 6 games 3-3 without much effort (Wins KC, CLE, AZ) and if we can beat SF (highly unlikely) or NE at home (Like last year) 4-2 -- if we can get there we can make a second half run. Not ready to give up but this better be the last time we see the team that showed up at MetLife today.
