Virgil Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Give me anything to look forward to for this season? Even being 2-1 isn't exciting because we know the Pats are going to crush us? D was terrible with no coverage and pressure Fitz is as bad as I've ever seen And who knows what's up with Freddy. Go ahead, I would love to hear this...
GoBills! Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 CJ spiller had a good game...and Chandler ran over Rex Ryan....maybe we can blame it all on those damn replacement refs !!
Jerry Jabber Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Bills need a franchise QB & a new secondary
Billsguy Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Bills need a franchise QB & a new secondary Mark Sanchez QB rating 123.4 Ryan Fitzpatrick QB rating 66.5 Bills defense? Wannstedt is clearly a genius? (or so say the faithful at TBD)
BRAWNDO Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 We have a better shot at a top five pick and our franchise QB?
Rob's House Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I'm optimistic that I'm going to save $250 after I cancel Sunday Ticket tonight.
K-9 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 OLine and Spiller were the only two positives today. Fitz had all day to make bad decisions and throws most of the time. That's all I got. GO BILLS!!!
Captain Hindsight Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Wont defend them today but its only one game. If they show this next week then well know the character of our team Spiller was terrific today though Edited September 9, 2012 by Captain Hindsight
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 The humidity has finally broken so weather is very nice
TakeYouToTasker Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Positive Takeaways from today's game: - They didn't quit after being down 41-7 early, and fought back until they were down 13. - Scott Chandler looked very solid in both the running and passing game. - The offensive line looked very cohesive as a unit. - CJ Spiller has emerged as the real deal. - We looked very strong against the run on defense. - Our linebacker play was surprisingly solid. - Kyle and Darius dominated the line of scrimage in the interior. Negative takeaways: - Fitz made too many poor decisions in the first half, and put the game out of reach. - Our secondary play was abysmal. Gilmore was beaten routinely, and Byrd looked lost. George Wilson may as well have not been on the field. - Mario Williams looked like Shawn Merriman. He didn't push the pocket at all, and didn't look explosive off the edge.
swnybillsfan Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 relax, it was on;y the 5th preseason game! but seriously, spiller showed some nice stuff out there (minus the fumble) and the o-line opened a couple holes. and as bad as everyone else looked, they can only get better, right?

D was terrible with no coverage and pressure Fitz is as bad as I've ever seen And who knows what's up with Freddy. Go ahead, I would love to hear this... Spiller was really good.....that's all I got. Although the whole team just looked flat and lifeless. I am not sure why that was, but I also do not think today's game is necessarily indicitive of the season. I can see a totally different team taking the field next sunday. That being said, even though I have been a Fitz supporter, he simply had zero chemistry with any of his receivers. I don't want to over react on day one, but I would not be shocked if T Jax was starting after the bye.
PO'14 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 1) If Jackson is done for the season, we will finally get a good idea of what Spiller can do in one full season as the main back! 2) Seems like the defense will have a good season against the run game. That is all I have for this game! Cheers all

I'll agree with most of this. I'm not sure, however, that Kyle and Darius dominated on 'passing' plays. There was no real push from any of the defensive lineman on passing plays all game. I cannot recall consistent pressure up the middle (though I'm not about to watch that abomination again to find out). They certainly bottled up Tebow and rushing game for the most part. You have to add Mckelvin to your list of negative takeaways. He was horrific.
Jerry Jabber Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 A franchise QB & some real WR's would be nice. Also, McKelvin sucked as well. Looks like we'll have to draft another CB early...again!!
HeHateMe Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I was hoping we wouldn't need to see Leodis after last season's poor play.. he is absolutely clueless when the ball is in the air. That said the entire secondary was atrocious. Mario Williams earned his money today didn't he? He should return the game check if he has any integrity.
turdferguson Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I never thought I'd want to see thigpen in there fitz sucks
