Very surprising to me on the eve of the season, although we don't really know what it means. It could mean Bradham is playing very well and it could also mean they don't like what they see from Moats (I would imagine it was more the latter than the former). It could also mean that Moats has a small injury so they are giving him a little rest or preparing in case it becomes worse. It could also mean that the Jets offense, especially the passing game is not scaring Wanny and he thinks Bradham is a better fit against the run than Moats. Or they want him for certain packages. It could mean nothing. But remember, guns don't kill people, Nigel Bradham kills people. Interesting, I wouldn't read too much into it though. This is Moats's first year as a 4-3 OLB, they probably want to make sure they have the backups ready in case of injury or struggles. I didn't think Bradham looked particularly good this preseason, so I doubt he's really being looked at to replace Moats (unless Moats has any more of those "olays" that he had in the last game...). I was a big Moats detractor, but with the exception of getting destroyed on one play last game I thought he looked pretty decent all training camp. The coaches were singing his praise as well. I doubt Moats will be called on to cover Keller too often as the strong side backer. We also kept Bryan Scott solely to be a TE "specialist".
Captain Caveman Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 FWIW - I was watching the Lions game yesterday, and and during the first or second Lions series, one of the announcers remarked that he didn't remember ever seeing a RB make a LB look as bad as Moats during a Lions run.

Fixxxer Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I think this is Gailey sending Moats a message about performance, yes, he won the job but now he has to keep it. One bad play (and that whiffed tackle was bad and resulted in a TD drive) and the next guy in line will take what's yours.

Pretty much. Moats took a *terrible* angle on many plays, imo. He's good at running at a QB, but I'm still not sold on him as an all around player.
