Dorin Dickerson

Nothing that hasn't been said before on my many thoughts. He definitely needs to block better. The only thing I will say that actually adds to the conversation, though is this:

We need to be realistic. Having all of these crazy subsets is fun but it is not football. It is not going to win us the ball games we think. We can think of great matchups created by subsets but we still need consistent line play, timing by Fitz, the ability to show we have more then a middle game pop gun offense, and that we can control the clock with the run. When we establish playing football in a football game our subsets will be nails in the coffins.

That's all we need, a 6 foot 1inch TE. We already have a great fullback that knows our offense well, is a special teams force and a first rate blocker.

We have a great slot receiver in Nelson (or Jones has experience there).

And does anybody really think this dude runs a 4.40? No freakin way. TJ Graham doesn't even run that and I guarantee if you line those two up in a footrace TJ smokes this dude.

Sorry to be a downer- its not my style usually-but I'm kinda getting sick of the Chan/Buddy love for the "guys that can do everything" (aka brad smith) This isn't college ball where versatility means something, it's the NFL and you can only play one position at a time.

I liked the video and Dorin seems like a great guy, but what ONE thing does he do better than anybody at their position. Run routes? block? Sorry but I'd rather have had Hagan or Namaan for depth, or even picked up the best available LB prospect out there.....

Good luck Dorin I hope you score a dozen touchdowns buddy.

Graham had a low of 4.29

Dickerson had a low of 4.40

Some guys are combine all-stars, other guys not so much.

Why So Serious???

No, but seriously....excellent analysis and comment.

The only thing we may have going our way is that most teams have a weakness (or several). Cheers.

Go Bills.

FWIW, Dickerson is very similar to the Niners "move TE" Delanie Walker, who is a major asset in their offense.

Not sure about your last sentence but anyways, a guy who's 230-235 who runs a legit 4.4 can be a problem to defend. I thought Dickerson looked good in preseason. He doesn't have a lot of wiggle but his straight line speed alone creates problems for the D.

There wasn't any 'analysis' in that comment. It was a string of statements that said some things that may or may not be true. Granted, that is kinda the point of a message board, but we should all work together to recognize the difference between excellent analysis (http://yardsperpass.com/?p=58) and some comments that "feel" the same way we do ourselves.
