Nostradumbass Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 We are a paying a price, however small, for keeping 4 QB's and 3 kickers
Gray Beard Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 The fact that other teams are picking up players that the Bills have cut is an indication that the overall talent level of the Bills is pretty good. At least that is my attempt to see things on the bright side.
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I liked Heard, but he wasn't irreplaceable. They obviously think Carrington and Moore have higher ceilings, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on depth guys. More bummed about losing Dwan Edwards than Heard, who was hurt, anyway. Hapless Bills Fan Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 We are a paying a price, however small, for keeping 4 QB's and 3 kickers Not quite sure how you see that. Heard was more of a 3-4 DT type. The Bills made a decision that Carrington had more upside for the 4-3 role, seems to me. Heard has been injured all camp and hasn't shown too much; I think Edwards may be a cap casualty, and he's the loss I regret more.

billsfan89 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Heard was a middling DT, not much better or worse than what we already had on the roster. I think S.Johnson is pretty good depth behind Williams and Dareus.

MARCELL DAREUS POWER Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 yeah, they need a big guy... brockers got hurt

Captain Hindsight Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Ya Kellen Heard is gonna cost us the Super Bowl

FLFan Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 We are a paying a price, however small, for keeping 4 QB's and 3 kickers Cutting Heard has nothing to do with that.
inkman Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Don't get too excited. Heard was a 3rd string DT on a defense that was in the bottom 3 of the league. Heard was on last years defense. One of the worst defenses in NFL history.
BuffalothruMyVeins Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Heard was on last years defense. One of the worst defenses in NFL history. That settles it. Cut Kyle Williams, Marcel Darius, Nick Barnett, Jairus Byrd, George Wilson, Leodis McKelvin and Terrence Mcgee.
jjmac Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Isn't Johnson in the last year of his contract? If so, I hopeTroup recovers for next season and he can step into his spot.
inkman Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 That settles it. Cut Kyle Williams, Marcel Darius, Nick Barnett, Jairus Byrd, George Wilson, Leodis McKelvin and Terrence Mcgee. I'd be ok with 2 or 3 of those guys gone. Say what you will but the stats bear it out.
BuffaloBill Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Isn't Johnson in the last year of his contract? If so, I hopeTroup recovers for next season and he can step into his spot. This is a long shot given Troup has done nothing

jjmac Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 This is a long shot given Troup has done nothing No arguments here, but I really believe that minus the back issue, we would be talking about the team cutting both Edwards and Johnson. the time off instead of rushing back is probably really going to help... so we will see... Provided his dad the fitness freak doesn't screw things up.
