l< j Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 A minor thing, but pretty cool, from Don Banks' column. The reason Nelson missed camp time was that Mario fell on him: "Nobody really knows this, but when David Nelson got hurt, Mario went to his room that night to check on him and say, 'Golly, I'm sorry,' '' Gailey told me. "A guy doesn't have to do that in this league, and a prima donna never does it. But a good guy does. That tells you something about what kind of human being he is. We felt good about the money spent already because he's a hard worker and a great player. But that just reinforced what we already thought.'' http://sportsillustr...l?sct=nfl_t2_a8 kj

Buffalo Barbarian Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Did Mario really say "Golly" ??? (On another subject, has anyone tried the new MariO's cereal yet? Saw it for the first time yesteday at Tops.) is it like Cheerios?
l< j Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 is it like Cheerios? Underneath each Cheerio is a tiny, flattened Tom Brady image. Yum.
BillsBiker Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Finally A thread that i can laugh at!!! l<J funny comment Bradying is so fitting!!!
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I find it strange that this does't happen more. You accidentally injure a teammate in practice--seems like the normal human reaction would be to apologize and check on the guy.
uticaclub Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Maybe he'll have to send gisele a sympathy card

I imagine a lot of those guys don't want to appear "soft" (read: "human"). Like Chan said, it says a lot about Mario's character.

A lot are also great guys but there's a good portion that are just used to the world revolving around them.

Meathead Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 gee golly mr tom im sure sorry i severed your throwing arm right off at the shoulder
BUFFALOKIE Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 It was probably closer to "gyaawlee". Leave it to Beaver is the only time I have ever heard anyone actually say "golly" as it is spelled.
The Senator Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) is it like Cheerios? Yes, of the 'honey-roasted' variety, and it benefits Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Carly's Club - so everyone please eat lots of it!!!! Edited September 2, 2012 by The Senator
