mclauria1
Why do I see Roosevelt being picked up by some other team and posting HUGE numbers. Poor guy: he isn't real fast and isn't real big.... all he does is CATCH & RUN, just about every time a ball is near him. He will be some other team's 6th receiver and and we will see him on Sunday Night ESPN highlights... Local boy, too. So sad.

Coach Tuesday
Smith plays 6 positions, why would anyone still call him a luxury or just wildcat specialist? Plus TT is only until TJ is ready. I doubt he lasts more than two weeks. The KO specialist is the luxury, but it keeps up fro keeping a ST specialist like Ruvel Martin whose duties are lessened greatly by the KO specialist. You really think they view Smith as a QB or WR? This team has enough kick returners. I don't mind keeping him, in any event. But their mis-evaluation of the backup QB position cost them a depth player. And I am disturbed by the number of Nix's draft picks who ave been jettisoned by Nix. D521646
3 luxuries: wildcat specialist, kickoff specialist, 4th QB. Is this a roster that can afford 3 luxuries?? No TT was a bad move, IMO unless they.. Ahh hell I'm not happy with some of these cuts.. Tim-

Kevin
You know what pisses me off? Cutting a guy you just drafted. Asper, and Carder were cut. Really? What the hell did they draft them for? Seems like a waste of a draft pick to me. I thought Carder out performed Chris White? Was I wrong? (seriously, was I wrong in that assumption?) dbow
To bad about Naaman Roosevelt. The kid didn't have the most upside. All he did was make plays with some decent hands.

Good teams cut late rounders regularly. That's why they're good - they have competition for spots. Bad teams are pretty much forced to keep all their draft choices. But their mis-evaluation of the backup QB position cost them a depth player. And I am disturbed by the number of Nix's draft picks who ave been jettisoned by Nix. They absolutely view him as a WR by the simple fact they only kept 4. They absolutely see him as a QB for the simple fact that #3 is usually for "emergency" QB or project QB who will never see the field unless it there are two injuries to the guys in front of him in the same game. But it's something that you need to have. You can criticize them for not making a great choice on Vince Young. That is a fair assessment. But the fact is, if he didn't completely tank in game three he would still be here in all likelihood and they wouldn't have traded for Jackson. But Jackson ultimately is a better back-up QB than Young is (at least IMO) and we're better off with him, and TT will be gone in a week or two, and we will sign a depth player. I don't see anyone on our cuts I worry we lost to be honest. Brad Smith on the roster SAVED a depth player, but being the #5 WR, #3 QB, and playing one of the most important positions on the KO and P team. Turbosrrgood
You know what pisses me off? Cutting a guy you just drafted. Asper, and Carder were cut. Really? What the hell did they draft them for? Seems like a waste of a draft pick to me. I thought Carder out performed Chris White? Was I wrong? (seriously, was I wrong in that assumption?) Easy man. There is still the PS. Carder clearly was not clearly was not NFL ready, and think he has a solid shot at the PS (despite his comments which made it seem like him and the Bills are parting ways). Asper I think is certainly PS bound, but even so, the dude was just a 6th round pick. 5-7th round picks commonly don't make their teams. Carder was one of the biggest myths to hit TBD in a long time. He literally did nothing impressive all of training camp. He showed some instincts and quickness, but looks like a boy among men. He is small and plays like it, he had real trouble tackling the big boys of the NFL. Dwan Edwards was almost automatic as a cut, since he was due to make MORE than Dareus or Kyle Williams this year. Carrington staying was somewhat of a surprise considering his sparse playing time. Also McGee, as others have mentioned they might use roster tricks to keep him around. Potter was almost automatic, I believe all of his kickoff's were TB's. Something Lindell never could do. I was a little surprised at only 5 WR's including Smith. I think that indicates that Spiller will be seeing a lot of time split out, and the Bills may be combing roster cuts for better WR options. Let's face, our WR's were just awful. People loved Roosevelt and Easley, but these guys simple aren't even in consideration on other teams. I doubt they are picked up. You may see more WR's added after a week or two once TJ is caught up, Thigpen could be dropped. Hearing Brooks was hurt is a disappointment. But I think we have the depth at CB where we aren't hurt too bad by that. Those saying we kept Howell because of CB injuries are wrong I believe. Howell is a safety (who played very well IMO), and is basically Byrd's backup. Is Pears starting the season on PUP? If not Young is probably toast when Pears is healthy. hondo in seattle
So we kept 4 QBs and 4 WRs and 2 Kickers! Wow. This just doesn't seem right. Each WR can have their own personal QB.
ReturnoftheBuffaloBeast23
Damn sad about Naaman not making it all he does is get open and catch I mean what else do you need a receiver to do? Id take him over Thigpen but im not the GM so whatever...

I understand that's the argument, but if he can't really play any of those positions better than a street free agent, I'm not sure I buy it. For me, he's worth keeping as a 3rd and 1 specialist, but I can easily see the other side of it.

Thigpen is temporary, and Smith is listed as both a QB and Kicker (smith is more receiver than QB anyway). TJ has had all of 5 days to learn the Bills offense. Once he is caught up, Thigpen is as good as gone (2-3 weeks)? Also, I think the Bills will have their eyes set on OTHER TEAMS CUTS. Other teams have cut WR's better than most of the guys on our roster, let alone our cuts. This roster is still likely to change before the regular season, and as it goes on. Rubes
You folks do realize that a player has to be cut before he can be placed on the practice squad, right? What's so bad about guys like Carder ending up on the PS to help bring them up to speed better?
bills1960
What WRs are they going to go after? I doubt they'll end up signing Deion Branch. If you look over every team there aren't any wideouts that have made names for themselves as legitimate targets. I'm sorry, but the four guys we got will be the four guys we have for week one.
