I think this lack of depth at WR is going to haunt us this season.

Maybe we'll sign a FA?

We ran a lot of 4 WR sets last year. Hard to do this year with only 4 WRs plus Brad Smith and maybe CJ split wide sometimes. There's bound to be injuries.

Buffalo News blog (TG) says they're keeping Thigpen and Jackson, and Dickerson. Also confirms list of WR cuts.

I'm confused - WKBW-TV sports director Jeff Russo reported on-air during the 6 PM newscast that the "Tyler Thigpen Experiment is over, at least for now," and that Thigpen has been cut, mainly due to salary considerations.

The Bills are on the hook for his entire $3.5M salary if he makes the final roster, are betting no one will pick him up, and therefore will be able to re-sign him down the road (for far less $$$) should something happen to Fitz or it becomes otherwise necessary (since, even though Thigpen sucks out loud, he's already familiar with the system).

EDIT: I guess Russo was wrong.

So Carrington made it (as a DT)? That is a surprise. I expect we will take advantage of the new IR rule for one player and eventually waive Thigpen after Jackson learns the playbook. That will open up two spots on the roster for a wide receiver and another DB since McGee is still recovering from his knee problems.

Not any huge surprises to me and I expected some. Young only makes it because Sanders goes to IR. They needed an extra DB so Howell makes it because McGee and Brooks are hurting. Morrison I thought would stay and White looks like a tough SOB to me as a LB. I thought Carder was a lock until remember White was a #5 pick at same position last year and looked good.

3 luxuries: wildcat specialist, kickoff specialist, 4th QB. Is this a roster that can afford 3 luxuries??

Smith plays 6 positions, why would anyone still call him a luxury or just wildcat specialist? Plus TT is only until TJ is ready. I doubt he lasts more than two weeks. The KO specialist is the luxury, but it keeps up fro keeping a ST specialist like Ruvel Martin whose duties are lessened greatly by the KO specialist.
