ACor58 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Not for anything, but you would think that Erie County would be showing some sense of urgency to get this lease wrapped up.

What makes you think they are not showing a sense of urgency? There seem to be updates on the lease discussions every few weeks.

It probably takes some time to hammer out a stadium lease deal. It's not like they're renting a power washer for the afternoon.
BillsBiker Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Get ready for the LA Bills!!! My worse thought ever... fml
dancing_joker Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Not for anything, but you would think that Erie County would be showing some sense of urgency to get this lease wrapped up. It could be wrapped up tomorrow if Erie County footed the entire $200 mil renovation cost. They'd be idiots to do that since Ralph refuses to announce a succession plan for his team. Why spend $200 mil if you don't even know if the team will be here? And Shumer's press conference about altering the repayment rule - I never heard him mention nor anyone ask if the Bills would be interested in his alteration. Would the Bills even want to spend $25 or $50 mil to renovate? They didn't spend a penny for renovations during the last lease. If they don't want to spend any money, I'd tell the Bills to go # themselves. If the new owner moves them to LA, they will have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in a relocation fee. We know for a fact Ralph isn't moving the team since he's too cheap to pay the relocation fee and he's got major health issues to deal with. Thus, the standoff.
Kkspike Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 erie county is working hard to get the lease done.they had the gold shovels out with the hard helmets on,great photo opp.now its time for the study group to do there part.
Hammered a Lot Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Not for anything, but you would think that Erie County would be showing some sense of urgency to get this lease wrapped up. The county executive has been to busy lining up a patronage job ($55,000) for his brother (who is a chef) at the Erie County Water Authority to be worried about the stadium lease.

Takes two to sign, maybe RW doesn't want to. A lease de-values the team if they are stuck here. I would not sign one either
Joe W Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Got nothing to worry about. Wawrow said that since Cuomo hired a high priced lawyer to advise him, everything is rosy. Yeah right, there's no lease to hold them here if Wilson dies. The NFL relocation fee will be recouped in hosting Super Bowl, increased revcenue etc etc Everyone better hope he recovers long enough to sign a lease.
HOUSE Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 The urgency is on the Peace Bridge, has to be done by 2030
