Thigpen will be auditioning for the rest of the league. If he plays well then it may land him another job after he is cut in Buffalo.

This is correct. The Tyler Thigpen era in Buffalo is over. It doesn't matter how well he plays in the last fake game.

Mark my words. Tavaris Jackson will be starting by week 6.

Hopefully by then we'll be able to spell his name correctly. I'm not getting my hopes up.

Another update: Thigpen looking solid in the 2nd half.

a legit starter... fitz is the best qb this team has had since flutie.... if you are waiting for dan marino, it aint happining... we improved greatly in surrounding talent and will win...

Def. can win with a guy like Fitz. Not sure why others can't see this, yeah I mean without blinders.

u guys are so cynical... ugh

you can win a superbowl with a guy like fitz.

i thought thigpen looked quite good, at least for him

neither pick was his fault, both were after getting his hand hit, which considering how rare that is its really just bad luck

otherwise he had a nice compl%, kept a bunch of drives going, made nice progressions to non-primary receivers

i still want him cut but if he had played like that the whole preseason they wouldnt have bothered to get jackson

Thigpen is producing a solid audition for some other desparate team. The only way he stays is if Brad Smith can't go in the opener.

I don't think Brad Smith is going to make the team.

This.

We all need to keep in mind the 'guys on the bubble' who may have been behind other backups for playing time, are going to be going against other 'guys on the bubble'.

So looking great in the last preseason game will influence, but not replace, evaluations formed all TC and PS

IMO, Chan's interview makes it sound like he's trying to justify keeping Thigpen. Or just trying to be nice to a guy on death row?

“Tyler had his hand hit twice for interceptions,” coach Chan Gailey said. “We can’t have that kind of penetration in there on those situations.”

“Tyler played good,” Gailey said. “He made it tough. And it was all on the line. He did a good job. There’s some receivers that played well, and they are going to make it a really tough decision as well.”
