John Adams Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Eastwood thing a bit bizarre ...not sure Eastwood knows Mitt's foreign policy...I like Eastwood but this is going poorly by any standard Dead wrong. He was pretty funny. That's an old, old man and he was quick and reactive. No teleprompter.
dayman Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Dead wrong. He was pretty funny. That's an old, old man and he was quick and reactive. No teleprompter. I love Clint and it was bad. I'm going to forget about it.
Doc Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Dead wrong. He was pretty funny. That's an old, old man and he was quick and reactive. No teleprompter. I agree. Barry's got his cadre of celebrities. I'll take an elder statesman like Clint anyday. Although I'll admit that Eva Longoria will be nicer to look at.
dayman Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) I'm way to distracted to pay attention to Rubio now... Funny tweet: "old white man arguing w/ an imaginary Barrack Obama" hehe...sums it up nicely... love you Clint not mad you want Romney just thought it was bizarre delivery Edited August 31, 2012 by TheNewBills
B-Man Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 "When somebody doesn’t do the job, we’ve gotta let him go."
/dev/null Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Clint Eastwood was, umm. Uh, no And onemore thing, if I was going to use an inanimate object represent Obama on stage it wouldn't have been a chair, it would have been a teleprompter
John Adams Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Rubio knows how to give a good speech. I'd put him as having an inside track to 2016.
B-Man Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 "It doesn't matter what you think about President Obama, This election is about your future.....not his".............. Senator Rubio .
dayman Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Rubio's speech nauseating as well...Mitt will look good after these two i really do believe he'll give his best yet
Doc Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Rubio's speech nauseating as well...Mitt will look good after these two i really do believe he'll give his best yet If you think these are lame, I can't wait to hear what you say next week.
Buftex Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 "Faith in our creator is the most important American ideal"...or some drivel like that....now waxing poetic about his parents who "escaped Cuba"
dayman Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 If you think these are lame, I can't wait to hear what you say next week. less nauseating end to Rubio's speech and I don't care what anyone says the Clint thing was bizarre rambling and I love him
John Adams Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Rubio's speech nauseating as well...Mitt will look good after these two i really do believe he'll give his best yet Wow, the "I am sure the next guy will be great" tactic so you can later say that you thought he'd be great but he disappointed you. Predictable. now waxing poetic about his parents who "escaped Cuba" Sorry that you hate successful immigrant stories. Very American of you.
Buftex Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Sorry that you hate successful immigrant stories. Very American of you. Sorry that you didn't get my reference to tall tails Rubio told about his parents in the past, none of which were true.
dayman Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Sort of checking off boxes of trouble spots but that's to be expected. Rose story good for the emotional touch. Going well
Buftex Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Sorry that you didn't get my reference to tall tails Rubio told about his parents in the past, none of which were true. Funny..Mitt doubling down on his "a president should have business experience", while his career-politician running-mate gazes in awe.
B-Man Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 "What is needed in our country today is not complicated or profound. It doesn’t take a special government commission to tell us what America needs. What America needs is jobs. Lots of jobs."
dayman Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Really disliked some specific parts of the speech b/c of my view, but without a doubt the best of Mitt's career no doubt.
John Adams Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) Funny..Mitt doubling down on his "a president should have business experience", while his career-politician running-mate gazes in awe. So? Last I checked, Mitt is the nominee, not Ryan. Should Romney only be able to tout the experiences that he shares with Ryan? Romney had some good moments--his best was [paraphrased] "Obama promised to stop the ocean's rise and heal the planet. I'm promising to help American families." Edited August 31, 2012 by John Adams
