These people know nothing about the weather. Literally 99.9% of the world does not know anything about the weather. I am so glad I am obsessed with the weather and model predicting. I would put people that make fun of us to SHAME.

My favorite comment: "Very few Bills fans that go to games actually live in Buffalo. They are either rich !@#$s who live in distant, fancy suburbs, or completely embarrassing hicks. All get absolutely shitfaced. If there is a night game (very rare), half the stadium will be black-out drunk by kickoff. Fights and vomit are guaranteed, as is an embarrassing defeat through either last minute meltdown or immediate blowout. Those are the two options."

Funny article. Detroit's is funny, too.

Yep, it always seems as if we blow primetime games with either a blowout or last second meltdown....Don't think Buffalonians sound like Midwesterners though. I love the WNY accent--can spot it immediately.

Buffalo does have a midwestern accent. Speech specialists call it the inland northern accent. We have it here in Syracuse, too - it begins in central New York and goes out to Chicago.

And now I know.

FWIW, when I think Midwestern, I don't think Michigan, et all. I think Indiana or Kansas.

When I lived in Utica, they didn't sound anything like WNYers.

Wow. I read all the comments too. The people who knock the Bills fans at the stadium are 100% right. But I would agree, I wish it was still cold in Buffalo like it was when I was a kid 20 years ago, but those days are seemingly long gone. When's the last time it really was "2 degrees for a game in December" as people ALWAYS allude to in articles like this? More like 45 degrees with drizzling rain. Which is actually more depressing.

The Buffalo accent is pretty much identical to the Chicago accent. I think it's really a Polish-American accent more than anything.

The best quote was something along the lines of Fitz looking like a guy who should be walking behind a plough mule.

Great stuff and no need to cry about this, some other write-ups have been much worse.

Utica's kind of 50/50 or where the inland northern accent begins. It's prettty heavy down in Binghamton.

From your wiki link:

The Inland North dialect of American English is spoken in a region that includes most of the cities along the Erie Canal and on the U.S. side of Great Lakes region, reaching approximately from Herkimer, New York to Green Bay, Wisconsin, as well as a corridor extending down across central Illinois from Chicago to St. Louis.

The Inland North consists of western and central New York State (Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, Binghamton, Jamestown, Olean); northern Ohio (Akron, Cleveland, Toledo); Michigan's Lower Peninsula (Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing); northern Indiana (Gary, South Bend); northern Illinois (Chicago, Rockford); and southeastern Wisconsin (Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee). This is the dialect spoken in America's chief industrial region, an area sometimes known as the Rust Belt.

this is by far the best comment: From Cory -

It kills me that I can't find it anymore, but I saw a blog post one time from a fellow fan about an email they received from the Bills asking them to renew their season tickets. The team was coming off one of those classic Buffalo 5-11 seasons where they suck all season

and then win their last 2 games just to avoid being able to draft someone half decent and get stuck with JP Losman throwing more picks than touchdowns again.

The email had the typical bull **** about all the great perks and how exciting the next season would be and all that garbage, and then there's a picture of Losman lining up to take a snap, because nothing gets people wetter and willing to cough over a small fortune to watch a ****ty football team more than an image of a future UFL superstar.

But upon closer inspection, by seeing who they were playing, what the scoreboard said, and where the team was lining up, the picture of the play that the Buffalo Bills decided to send their fans requesting them to renew season tickets was of JP Losman getting sacked for a !@#$ing safety.
