billsfan89 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) If this is for anything more than a 7th rounder I will be disgusted (Its rumored to be a 5th or 6th). T.Jackson is a pretty decent backup but marginally better than what V.Young is. I would have preferred to have kept Young. But if T.Jackson starts more than a game or two this team is screwed. T.Jackson can win you a game or two but over the stretch of a full season the guy's limitations are just blatant. I would just keep VY and put the kibosh on this deal to get Jackson, no need to give up a pick for a marginal upgrade at backup QB. Edited August 26, 2012 by billsfan89
QCity Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 He was being shopped for a 5th last week. Hopefully we only gave up a 6th or 7th, he's got a $4M 2012 salary.

Malazan Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) really, a 7th is ok, but you draw the line there. cant sacrifice that 6th? Tom brady was drafted in the 6th and if the Bills had followed the draft board I made yesterday from that year, they would have drafted Tom Brady! Budday Asleep at the wheel again! Notice the hold up in MONEY! RALPH IS CHEAP! Edited August 26, 2012 by jeremy2020
stinky finger Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Hardly a surprise.Get him in here and get busy teaching. Who knows, maybe he supplants Fitz. Nahhhh...who am I kidding? Probably just another attempt at making chicken salad out of chicken chit.
Fan in San Diego Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Is this guy any good? Who has he played for?
yall Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Any more castaways on this team and I'll expect someone to make a radio out of a coconut on the sidelines.
Sisyphean Bills Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 When Vince Young was in the game yesterday, I kept reminding myself, "this is the guy who singlehandedly willed his Univ of Texas team to a championship. This guy was the third overall pick in the draft, embarrassed the Bills when he was a Titan, went to multiple Pro Bowls, and had a bright future ahead of him. This is that guy." Man, he has fallen off. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/147533-is-vince-young-a-wacko-or-just-a-player-that-needs-coaching/ I guess we're zeroing in on the conclusion of these summer debates...
Hapless Bills Fan Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 http://www.nfl.com/n...o-buffalo-bills Hope it's not more than a 7th. He was on his way to the waiver wire anyway... I would be OK with a 6th I guess but not higher - as you say, he was on his way to the waiver wire. I thought we got snookered on our last trade with the Sea Snakes so who knows
KRT88 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 OMG. I just threw up! Really anyone in the Bills brass thinks this is an answer!
Kelly the Dog Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 OMG. I just threw up! Really anyone in the Bills brass thinks this is an answer! It's an answer to the question, "Who is a better back-up QB, Jackson, Young or Thigpen?", probably the correct answer, and all that matters.

Well he wouldn't be brought in to play over the course of an entire season. That's why he'd be the backup. So if he's forced to play because Fitz is hurt and can, as you said "win a game or two", then it's fine. I'm not a big fan of Jackson, I think he's pretty terrible. But it'll be tough for him to look any worse than Young and Thigpen have. Edited August 26, 2012 by biglukes
bills1960 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Is this to replace Young OR to replace Brad Smith as the third string/wildcat guy? Could be both, I wouldn't jump to conclusions as say Young is a goner just yet.
jwolf02 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I love it! Guy was pretty good at times for MIN and was very solid for SEA last season. More accurate than some give him credit for and can play game manager or use his athleticism. Great move IMO.
FitzShowUsYourTitz Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Can they possibly cut both Young n Thigpen 2 weeks before the season for a guy that hasn't even seen their playbook yet? I'd say yes! He has 2 weeks, but also if it took him that much longer, Brad Smith could be the backup for the first week (or two).
Meark Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Why give up a draft pick for a 3rd string QB? Can we get anything for Thigpen? or Brad Smith? How about Flynn for a 5th?
K-9 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Oy! This has desperation written all over it. Very unsettling only a week after thinking you found your number two. I wonder if VY's outside problems have him in a funk. The difference between last week and this week was palpable. Oh well. Onward and upward as they say. GO BILLS!!!
Best Player Available Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I wish the Bills would pursue a quarterback that had the skills to replace the back up who currently holds the title of starter. This is going to be a tough year watching this overpaid bust.
Nyghtewynd Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 We're going to spend that much money on a terrible backup QB? Has there been any more of a Ralph move than that? Beyond idiotic.
