thewildrabbit Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 And in the regular season, the Bills starters will play for 4Q For the 1st quarter when all the OL starters were in, the breakdown was 12 pass plays to 7 run plays or about 65% pass, 35% run. That is NOT the breakdown I want to see during the regular season. To do Chan justice though, those run plays went for 0,15,8,1,4,2, and 8 yds - so while the YPC are great at about 5, it's not as though the Bills are having 100% success running the ball, it's a mixture of stuffs and longer runs. SJ had one absolutely Big League catch across the middle. #1 in anyone's league. He also had a couple plays where there was obviously some miscue, can't tell whose. Part of that trouble running the ball was the I formations and other closed formations that the Bills have had clear trouble running the ball out of, Gaily was working on that aspect it appeared to me. The biggest reason for the running success is Fred Jackson breaking the first tackle or making them miss. They did get better running from a closed 2 TE set this week they then looked last week. so that is making me a little optimistic. I still say Fitz is not one of the elite QB's and Gailey needs to protect him better by running the ball more often. The man did make Spiller his #1 pick, dunno why he doesn't utilize him more. 500 runs / 500 passes this season would suit me just fine.
Thunderstealer Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 What I can't understand is all the negative comments on these topics. We are supposed to be positive fans and than rant after the 10th week. Let us all listen to Chan. Half these guys won't be here in two weeks. We have the best to come. Trust me because I'm a great fan. Since 1965. I see them talented in every position. Really good established teams will give them trouble fore sure. But their big men and slkilled recievers and runners will have their way in most cases. This team is stocked and will be a tough out this year, and a force in future years.
