Things are looking good for the Bills in Week 1: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000053149/article/darrelle-revis-does-sanchez-have-enough-support?module=HP11_content_stream

"Darrelle Revis said last week that Mark Sanchez needs to take the "next step" and become a top-10 quarterback. But is that even possible considering the weapons around him?

"I don't know," Revis told Newsday while shaking his head. "I don't know."

"You've got to do what's best for the team, and I don't know if we've been wise in that department," Revis said Wednesday.

We can't disagree. The Jets were on our list of the four teams that have had the roughest training camp, and they are the only team on the list that hasn't suffered massive injuries. The wide receiver group is thin. The right tackle spot remains a trouble spot, and the running back group is sub-mediocre.

"I don't really know how this is going to pan out. I just hope that they do what they need to do on offense," Revis said, sounding a lot like a radio talk show caller. "And not to divide this -- I'm supporting those guys. I think the only thing you can do is be supportive. Right now it's still preseason."

nothing more than posturing...if the jets lose, well, he told you so, but if the jets win, it adds bravado because they beat the Bills and they didn't have the necessary tools to do so.....

I love the specter of doubt before the season even starts. This Jets team is a ticking time bomb. If the Jets lose in week 1 at the Meadowland, it will be absolute chaos in New Jersey.

Love it!!! Here are a few more nuggets....

"The Jets have been quietly searching for outside help at right tackle all offseason, but it’s been slim pickings after the Jets’ trade for the Panthers’ Jeff Otah fell through for medical reasons. Otah is currently out of football. Ryan wouldn’t rule out looking for outside help, especially with the first round of roster cuts coming soon, but at the end of the day, they feel good about Howard and Hunter right now.

“You’re always evaluating your team. If [future Hall of Famer] Jonathan Ogden called me up and said, ‘Rex, I’d like to come back,’ then Ogden’s our starting right tackle,” Ryan joked. “Right now, I’m thinking that we’re going to be ok,” he said. “We don’t know who’s going to be cut from other teams. I don’t believe you’re going to find somebody right now that can be a starting right tackle ahead of who we have.”

Not sure if anyone caught Rexy on ESPN yesterday but it is friggin' hilarious how he was trying to make the benching of Hunter as a positive thing. I paraphrase Rex: "That's what we did with him last year. Used like a 6th lineman and what does every person in the whole stadium thing, were gonna run. But we can pass from that set. But everyone will think run." Really Rex? Really???

Their offense is looking like smoke and mirrors...only not enough smoke or mirrors. LMAO.

“The more I went back and looked at where we’re at as a football team, and getting feedback from coaches, and knowing the history of Wayne’s success that Wayne had basically as a sixth man, I’ve decided that that’s the way we’re going to go,” Ryan told the media. “I’m going to put Wayne in that role, where really he excelled. And that’s being a guy that basically fits at — whether it’s a tackle, guard, tight end, all that kind of stuff. So I’m going to move Wayne back to that role.”

As for Austin Howard, Ryan had this to say, “We’re going to give Austin Howard a shot to be with this first group. I thought he earned that right. He played extremely well against Cincinnati, did OK against the Giants, but really played well against Cincinnati, and this is what I want to do. I’m going to put him in that situation, and we’ll see how he does this week.”

Am I the only one who is drooling at the thought of our new D-line against their O-line?

Nope, you're not alone. Looking forward to seeing Dirty Sanchez & The Holy Diver running for their lives against the Bills front 4.

As arrogant and greedy as revis is, I give him credit for providing a rational, candid voice to Rex's blowhard BS all along. because he thinks of himself as above and outside the team, he's a lot more objective. But cettainly Rex knows the score their offense has real problems. That's why he's trying to make such a big deal about tebow and the wildcat and how he'll fool us; he's hoping to get us to focus our preparation on that and away from their core offense which needs help. I really don't think anyone will buy into it now though. It's too obvious what's going on there. What's even sillier is thinking he can sucker us into over preparing for tebow when we stomped all over him at the end of last year when he played the whole game for Denver.

I think you're spot on. Am I the only one who thinks it's a sure sign to Trouble City when a key player on a team thinks of himself as above and outside the team?

as much as i want to believe the jets are going to implode and the bills will walk all over them, that is a veteran team and isnt going to lie down in two weeks. they are going to be favored in the game, and rightfully so. bills will have to be very sharp to come out of there with a win
