Chandler#81 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Kyle Williams was ranked by Profootballfocus as their BEST defensive player in the entire NFL in 2010. He's more than great. We have something special. Dareus = as good, if not better than Suh with out the stats. That's not that far fetched either. This could be the best D-Line the Bills have ever seen as well. The hype is real, they just need to do it now for us to be in these talks legitimately. Best D-Line ever means overtaking Day, McDole, Dunaway & Sestak. I don't think so..
ganesh Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Ok, so I'm watching the first team defenses snaps against the Vikings for the umpteenth time and I'm keying on Kyle Williams. Dude was straight up UNBLOCKABLE! He's literally shoving the Vikes starting center into the QB on multiple snaps. Someone needs to send Kyle a memo and tell him to save something for the regular season!! On one hand every body blasts the Bills for not doing anything in the Preaseason and procrastinating that we will be doomed and on the other hand we want them to shut down and show NOTHING. Where do the Bills stand?
San Jose Bills Fan Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Reminds me a lot of Joe Klecko. Yep. His ability to forklift blockers back into the QB is Klecko-esque. Justin Smith of the Niners is like that too. Sapp was also good at that.
BuffalOhio Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I remember reading about KW after he was drafted. Someone at LSU called him the "Rolling Ball of Butcher Knives." I'll never forget that quote. Awesome.
truth on hold Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 The only guy I'd rather have is Haloti Ngata, and even then not by all that much. Tough choice (and to think we could have him too if for another misguided "system" pick of whitner). Ngatas a freak for sure, never seen a guy his size elevate like that. But as flashy as he is I still the give the nod to a healthy Kyle, because of how he never takes a play off. Ngata can disappear for long stretches. Williams stamina and hustle is extremely rare for someone his size, they get tired. But he's a bull.
Dopey Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) Chris Kemoeatu still has nigthmares about that game. KW was en fuego that day. GO BILLS!!! This was the only time I actually felt bad for an opponent. Don't get me wrong, that was total domination and fun to watch, but I did feel for the guy. Edited August 21, 2012 by Dopey
San Jose Bills Fan Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Yeah, that was an epic performance… making tackles and sacking the QB with O-linemen draped on his back.
Dorkington Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 As much as I love individual performances, I'd much rather have a better team defense. We haven't shown the ability to stop 1st team offenses yet... :-/

Dorkington Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Well he had virtually no supporting cast back then. Big difference now. We have two pre-season games against fairly week teams where our first team lost against their first team. I'm *hoping* that doesn't mean anything, and our defense is solid in regular season, but I can't help be a little worried.

wnyBacker Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 One of the most underrated defensive players in the league...he is a beat, our beast!

I don't know about underrated, heck everyone I've ever seen or heard talk about him seems to agree that he's a great DL?? In fact i can't think of anyone that has said otherwise? Tim-

Im hardly saying we've done anything yet (I typically get bashed for providing cautionary messages, fwiw), but are you saying youd be indifferent to swapping out MWilliams, Dareus and Anderson, for Kyles starting supporting cast at the time of Stroud and Spencer Johnson?
